My kid was a terrible napper. I thought he’d catnap forever. The only way he started stretching his naps is when I picked an amount of time and he stayed in his crib for that time no matter what. When he was on two naps I think I didn’t go in before 1.5 hour. Only then did he finally start stretching them out.

@Mrs. Deer: not sure! He already has one but I don't think this happened with that one.

Ugh was hoping more people had been through this but maybe it's just us!

30 minutes seems to be the default for my kids using illness, regression, etc. I also just did cio and they would go back to sleep once they were on one nap a day and I knew 30 minutes wasn't going to be enough.

LO was always a catnapper until 7ish months or so when they mostly got longer. Now at 11 months this past week he's suddenly gone back to 30ish minutes and it's driving me bonkers. He's clearly so tired but just sits right up after 30 minutes and starts crying and won't settle back to sleep. He's sleep trained and falls asleep easily for the most part, with an occasional cry before... sometimes a hard one, but I'm pretty consistent with making him ride it out.

Did anyone else go through a regression like this around 11 months? Tell me he'll go back to longer naps!!
