DS was no longer able to nurse to sleep at that age - he was just too alert and curious about everything. We just fed then rocked to sleep with white noise. We just do what works until he grows out of it. And I agree with what @mamasig said... screw 'em...

@FaithFertility: oh and I'd tell those moms to go f*** themselves for making you feel bad. Are they there every night? Nope. Do what works for you and your family. That is what matters. Not what they do and believe.

Bath, jammies, and bottle to go to sleep at that age. Usually, the bottle was enough to knock them out. With DS2, if the bottle doesn't work, I rock him to sleep and then transfer to crib. He's 9 months old and STTN. I never did any sleep training. I don't believe in bad habits anymore. Just do what works until it stops working. Then find something new that works!

Routine:
White noise, lamp, fan all on
Diaper change + paci
Merlin suit (we ditched swaddle at 3 months I believe)
Books (2 to 3 depending on length)
Bedtime Songs + rocking

Prior to this we did nothing to get him to sleep. We just put him in his bed and he would go to sleep. I have no idea why we then proceeded to introduce rocking. We were idiot first time parents.

ETA: He always nursed 30 minutes before bed time routine so he didn't associate that with sleep.

Bath, lotion massage, PJ's, warm bottle in dark quiet room, then sleep sack, white noise machine and sing the same 2 lullabies. The song, swaddle, and white noise became his sleep cues for naps and bedtime. We follow eat, play, sleep but he gets a bottle just before bedtime.

Swaddle, sway/bounce and nurse to sleep. Sleep for 30 minutes. Wake up screaming. Walk for an hour before LO would fall asleep again.

Bath, bottle of punped milk, swaddled. Put in rock n play in our room and sat with him and slowly rocked it until he dozed off. Eventually we stopped rocking it and just sat there till he fell asleep.

@FaithFertility: I nursed to sleep and still do sometimes at a year old! My daughter has no issues putting herself to sleep the rest of th time. Atound 8 weeks I started laying baby down to see if she would self settle to sleep. If she cried, I picked her up and nursed/rocked her. Over time she got better at it and I think it really helped in the long run. It took time but aroind 6 months I could put her in her crib awake and she just talks herself to sleep! No CIO required. Don't wotry about what anyone else says, just do what works for you and baby!!

At that age we did bath, pj's, swaddle, nurse to sleep in our bed and when he was fully asleep he'd go in the PnP next to me. Around 6m we moved his last feed to before bath.

We did a bottle and rocked to sleep if needed until 4 months and then nailed down a solid bedtime routine (still with bottle) from there and could put him down awake after the whole diaper, sleep sack, book, bottle, white noise routine. @12m we switched to cows milk in a cup and gave it at dinner, no longer at bedtime. He was totally fine, no issues. I realize we are somewhat lucky and that it may or may not be harder with a LO who is attached to nursing.....BUT overall I would not feel bad at all for nursing to sleep at 2-3 months. Our son really didn't seem to pick up any bad habits then (like the rocking standing up, which we eventually only ended because he is huge and it was impossible to continue

I have a routine too
We do Bath around 7
Massage pj's
Book depending on how tires she looks
Nurse
Some nights she is knocked out
Some nights I lay her down and she is up I give her 10 mins tops to try to put her self back to sleep mind you she is NOT crying then I'll go in to sooth her or rock her in my arms....
just second guessing myself today, talked to a few mom's today that dogged me for nursing to sleep..

We'll I've got a toddler too but we all go upstairs after dinner and dishes are done and trade off who does what. Tonight it was I gave the toddler a bath and DH put baby in pj and gave baby a bottle and burped him in our bedroom. Then he gave me the baby and I took him too his room, turned on white noise, dimmed the light, swaddled him, nursed him a few mins while in the glider and he was out. Nights where he doesn't get a bottle my nursing is quite a bit longer. But basically same thing every night. Diaper change, pj, white noise and dim light, nurse/bottle, burp, swaddle, nurse, bed. The only thing that will change from now until age 1 is that he will more frequently have a bath before bed and we will add a book in probably after 6 mos.

At that point I was just nursing to sleep. I'd nurse one side, burp her, change her diaper and swaddle her up, nurse the other side (and she'd fall asleep) and I'd set her down.
