My son is only 7 weeks and I love being a momma to a boy. He is so snuggly and already a momma's boy. Although he smiles a lot more for dad. I love seeing DH and our son together. I look forward to dressing him like dad. I can't wait to take him fishing and then all the other boy adventures. If we have another I'd love to have another boy.

I was hell bent on wanting a girl...now? I have gone to the point where I told DH that I could be done because I'd be SO happy to just have boys and I don't know if I could handle the emotions of a pubescent girl! My hubs favorite argument for having a boy:

You only have to worry about one penis. When you have a girl, you have to worry about ALL of the penises. ;-)

I thought I wanted a girl until the E showed up. It's amazing how much you will love your baby when he shows up. Boy or girl, what you thought you wanted or not, it's a magical thing to meet your babe. It's unlike anything in the world. Congratulations!

I have one of each, and I used to imagine myself as a mama to only girls (a lot of women run in my family so I'm very very comfortable with girls)...

But my 2nd is a boy... and I LOVE LOVE LOVE having a boy!! He is so easygoing and relaxed... not emotionally dramatic like my daughter. SO SWEET and huggable. I LOVE IT!!!

I am really really looking forward to having two boys in the house (including DH). I love that I'll be the only girl, I think that's kind of special in a way.

I can't wait to dress him in preppy polo's just like his Daddy and see how crazy he is as a toddler. I'm also very thankful that I won't be tempted to buy piles of clothes since boy clothes are a lot less exciting.

You sound just like me! These were my thoughts and concerns when we found out we were having a boy, because I'd always pictured myself raising girls. But I'm really excited now about a few things.

1. My (hopefully) future daughter having a big brother - I always wanted one.
2. Getting to see a mini version of my husband, and given his age, knowing I'll always have a piece of him even if something happens.
3. Getting to skip all of those girly, hormonal moments.
4. Hopefully seeing him rise to levels of excellence that girls have a harder time getting to (I hate the glass ceiling that does truly exist still in our business culture).
5. The fact that people say little boys are cuddle bugs who love their mommies. As a young child I was a total daddy's girl.

Oh, I love everything about having boys!! Well...except DS1 peeing all over the bathroom......lol!

- Father & son....SO SPECIAL. Nothing makes me happier than watching my boys wrestle with their daddy, play hide and seek together, or just cuddle up and watch tv.

- Mud, worms, monster trucks, and super heroes. Fun! Fun! Fun!

- Mama's boy. <3

- Boy clothes are totally cute! I love shopping for my boys. They always look so handsome.

- Both my boys are pretty laid back. DS1 is so sweet and thoughtful. And DS2 is a total nut! He is so so goofy and silly all the time.

- I think dirty diapers are way easier to change. Haha. I get nervous if I'm changing a baby girl's diaper.

I think I could go on and on. Boys are just amazing!

I love being a mama to a boy! he's so much fun and loves to get dirty and be rough. I love seeing my husband talk about all the things he gets to do with his son when he's older. I loved seeing how excited he was when he found out we were having a boy(not that he wouldn't have been excited if he were a girl!)

and although, like @looch:, he much prefers DH, I can tell he looks for me sometimes and 'just wants his mommy'

@dagret: OMG! totally agree about wiping for #2's! we have to start 'practicing' since DD will be here in 3 short months haha

L is 3.5 months - He's our first and I haven't seen much of his "boy" personality yet...

I think a son is less "scary" for DH to parent on his own than a girl. If he's watching him he just takes him wherever he goes. I'm not sure that he'd do that for a girl.

You also don't have to worry about which direction you're wiping #2s, which counts for a lot in the middle of the night!

And I agree about the clothes thing.

My son is such a sweetheart. He is definitely a momma's boy. Hugs and kisses and snuggles all the time. But he's also just so funny and smart and GAH I love him.

I wanted a girl, so I can relate. But my son has taught me that you just can't squish people into boy/girl boxes. They're so much more.

I had a dd first and looooove being a mom to a girl.
But there's something so special that I can't describe in words about having a boy.
I'm crazy about my son. I love dressing him in little boy clothes. Love how he looks and smiles at me. It's the best thing ever.

DS is 9 months and he's the sweetest boy ever. He's full of energy and he's really tough. He rarely cries unless something really hurts. He's so curious about everything, I love watching him grow. He loves to play in the water and love to give open mouth kisses. He melts my heart daily.

DS is 3.5 weeks old and I hope we have a house full of boys! He is so sweet and snuggly, obviously prefers mommy snuggles over dad snuggles, has the sweetest, calmest disposition, and is just wonderful.

I don't have a girl for comparison purposes but that's what I love about my boy :)

He and DH have their own sweet relationship, DH loves to play with him and DS prefers playing with daddy. It's fun :) boys are wonderful!

He's on 6.5 months old, but I can't wait for running around with him, playing sports, and watching him and DH bond over ":man" things (fart jokes and burping contests as well, I'm sure).

I never thought I would be a good 'boy mom' but here I am loving every second. I can't imagine it any other way! He is such a mama's boy, is SO SILLY, I really do adore dressing him. My biggest worry though is raising him to be a gentleman - I feel like it is a really big job. What has been interesting to me the past 10 months is that I am so boy mom now - liking the super hero stuff, looking forward to legos. It is really really fun.

My little man isn't due for 7 more weeks, but I can tell you what I am looking forward to:

-Sporting events. We are HUGE baseball fans and cannot wait to share our love of the Orioles with him. DH even bought him his own season ticket!

-Going to his sporting events and watching him play t-ball and soccer and whatever else he wants to get into.

-Watching him and my husband roll around and play on the floor.

-Water gun fights.

-Snuggles!

-A more laid back attitude (my nephew's are so laid back!)

-Farts, burps, dirt, worms, and all of the gross stuff that is going to drive me crazy but secretly make me laugh/melt at the same time.

-So, so, so much more!

I've found DS prefers to snuggle with DH over me. Color me jealous! I agree with @mrs. wagon, you're going to save money on clothes! When I go shopping I notice a lot more cute clothes (not to mention options) for girls than boys. I was a little bummed at first but my wallet appreciates this. I've also always imagined being momma to a little girl but I love my boy so much!

I LOVE being a boy momma! I definitely wanted a boy and am so happy our first was what we wanted. I'm totally looking forward to cheering him on from the sidelines and being a team mom (not that I couldn't do that with a girl). He is such a momma's boy and I love his snuggles, when he slows down enough to give them to me. I get a little jealous at all the super adorable little girl clothes, but I know I won't miss the teenaged girl drama!

@HLK208: oh I was going to say... Wagon Jr. is a very sensitive little guy, so little things would set him off, BUT LMW is a HUGE drama queen!!! When she cries it's like the END OF THE WORLD OH MY GOSHHHHH HOW DARE YOU cry!! Whenever other moms of girls hear her they totally commiserate. It shocks Wagon Sr. and I so much that we mostly just laugh rather than worry.

Seconding everyone who says that boys are little snuggle monsters to their moms. LO loves to snuggle with me and looks for me all of the time. As we say in our house, DH becomes "chopped liver" when I'm around.

Our boy LO was a surprise since we hoped for a girl for our first. He's been a huge surprise in general. So much energy and so many snuggles. It's been almost 9 months and I can't imagine not having a little awesome dude like him. He's sweet, happy, full of energy.

DS is 5...will be 6 in August.

He's always been a Momma's boy, but I was a single parent from the time he was 15 months til he was 4.

He's SO down to earth...he's got his dramatic moments, but for the most part he goes with the flow pretty easily.

He's into Legos and it's pretty amazing that he can follow the directions so well. He's into Star Wars, Angry Birds, Superheros (He's really cute in his costumes!) and lots of "boy" things.

He's an animal lover. He's a true example of a boy and his dog...or his cat, lol. Stomps in every puddle he comes to, always has dirt in his ears and likes to build with blocks.

@mrs. wagon: hahaha so true about girls clothing going out of style, if I ever have another girl...will she even wear all the jeggings I bought for my first DD?

Another thing is, my daughter has more of a temper that my son did. He was so laid back and mellow as a baby and she is temperamental and emotional! Not sure if that is because they are male/female or just their personalities but a lot of baby boys I meet are laid back too.

Woohoo!!! Boys are so fun (girls are too, but I love having a boy!). First, I think my son loved me more when he was a baby than my daughter does as a baby lol. He was a snuggle bug and preferred me over anyone for the first 2 years. When I found out I was having a boy, I imagined spending my Saturdays at his sports games :) we haven't gotten there yet but he full of energy and hilarious.

yayyy!!!!

I have had one of each now and having a boy first was definitely great for me. Boys are pretty simple, and they are quite rough and tumble, so even though LMW is very big and strong, handling her is nothing compared to what I had to do with my first. So I guess what I am saying is that having a boy really "broke me in" to parenting very quickly!

Also, you're not as tempted with all the cute clothes and accessories (basically the only boy accessory you will be able to purchase is hats) so you save a lot of money!! And hand-me-downs are less likely to be out of style so you can use a whole lot more. Clothing-wise in general, it's a LOT easier and simpler because there are less things to think about. For Wagon Jr. it was all about shirt, pant, sock, shoe, hat, jacket. That's IT. The only variables were long or short sleeves, long or short pants, casual or dress shoe, and the weight of jacket. So you can kinda go bananas and mix and match really easily, and stick with a style like preppy or sporty or hipster. With girls you have to think about tights vs. socks, skirts vs. pants, dresses vs. skirt/pant, type of shoe, and don't even get me started with the hats / headbands / hairclips. The choices are just endless and many times I get confused rather than excited for shopping!

Oh also, when it's potty time, you don't have to wipe for #1s which is a great timesaver. Haha.
