i use it for body lotion, eye makeup remover, face lotion (at night so it soaks in overnight), and i use it to season my cast iron skillet because it's a neutral oil.

@meredithNYC: I don't find it any greasier than regular lotion, and it absorbs into my skin pretty quickly while leaving a very moisturized so the "greasiness" goes away once it's absorbed.

I use it for shaving! I melt the coconut butter, add a few drops of lavender or other essential oil and pour into muffin tins and let cool to make little cakes/ bars, let cool and then pop them out of the tins. Then when in the shower rub on my legs like a bar of soap and shave! So nice to not have to buy shaving cream! Also as a bonus, when you get out of the shower your legs are already moisturized

Just be careful using it in your hair if you colour it. Especially dark colour. I've heard it works ok with blondes and stuff but if you colour your hair dark you might strip it. So I've heard it's recommended to use a few days before you get your hair coloured/roots done etc.

@miranlee: Ah, yes, I definitely want to go that route when I'm pregnant the next time. Last time I used some Vaseline cocoa butter oil, but that's before I knew that mineral oil is not exactly the best thing for you. Since I've become a mom, I am definitely more concerned about such things - and I've learned tons from the ladies of Hellobee!

@Mrs. High Heels: ha! I mentioned this once and heard crickets. But really, it's great! I like that it's not very messy and I've never gotten a UTI (like I have with many other lubricants) with it.

Gotta say though, even with separate jars, I have a hard time mentally shifting and using it for cooking now.

i use it as a lotion for myself and LO, and as diaper cream (for LO, haha). fyi, i once bought a jar of spectrum brand and didn't like it because it doesn't smell like coconut! of course if you don't want the coconut smell then that brand would be a winner.

also, so you don't have to dig down into a long, tall jar to scoop it out, i like the brands that come in a low, squat container, like this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Natures-Way-Organic-Virgin-Coconut/dp/B003B3OOPA/ref=sr_1_1?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1365447765&sr=1-1

@Alivoo01: @MamaJ: @autumnlove: For those of you who use it as a lotion, does it absorb really well? I'm afraid of being greasy! I suppose I have the same question re: use on hair. I do tend to have dry skin and hair, though, so it might be just the thing I need.

@looch: Hi! Haha, yes - that is, if I make it there since someone is refusing their afternoon nap and I don't even want to make that trip with a grouchy child :(

I use it at every diaper change to protect D's bum - it's cloth diaper safe (yay!). I also use it to help his cradle cap - I smear it on his head and let it sit for about 10 minutes, then gently "scrape" it off with a baby comb, then rinse it all off in the bath. It clears up after one or two treatments! I put it on his eyebrows, too, cuz he gets cradle cap up there - just smear a little bit on and leave it alone. Clears up in a day!
