We had neighbors who were completely crazy. They were members of the KKK, hated every race except white (we were afraid to have friends over if they weren't white because of what the neighbors might do).<br /> Some of our black friends from out of state wanted to come stay with us for a weekend, but we were honestly scared for their safety if they came. It was horrible. </p> <p>They were constantly shooting on their property, and often shot over into our land, including filling our vegetable garden with bird shot (we used to find pellets in our vegetables when we cut them up), and they shot all of our chickens.<br /> Killed them. They were our pets. </p> <p>They also broke into our home and the neighbors home across the street and tried to put in phone taps because they were so paranoid.<br /> They burned down another neighbors home (although it was never proven, we are sure it was them and so were all the other neighbors).<br /> Eventually they started making death threats against the neighbors across the street, who had a baby and were pregnant with a second, and the cops FINALLY got involved. They still didn't go to jail. I don't understand how one person can make so much noise. He stomps around first thing in the morning. He woke us up at 6:30 on Saturday, 7 on Sunday and 6 this morning. I'm so frustrated because I'm in my first trimester so i'm super tired and i just keep thinking "i only have 7 1/2 more months of sleeping in". The neighbor behind us in my first house stored all of his junk (trash cans, trailer, old wood scraps) on his property line which bordered ours. Every single time we saw him outside, he told us he was going to put up a fence. We moved and 6 years later, there's still no fence there.</p> <p>2. I lived in what appeared to be a safe apartment in Bristol, CT. After I moved in I started noticing patterns of weird behavior. I had a drug dealer living across the hall from me!!!! I was getting ready for class one morning and had the TV on and the cops came saying there was a noise complaint. This cop had been there bfore, and he went down and talked to the neighbor explaining that the noise level is below acceptable and that he was obstructing justice and that he had to stop callign in un-necessary complaints. </p> <p>I talked to our landlord &amp; she was on our side, and they had him move out when his lease was up! It started with her telling my pregnant friend that we didn't own the house and we had to leave. She used to harass us and our friends. She stole our mail, harassed our dogs. We had to get a video surveillance system and a PO Box. Finally after she also harassed another neighbors kids, her son got her committed to a mental institute. She would just sit in her garage without any electricity or water or anything. She wasn't even living there she would walk over every day. My college roommate sublet her room to her friends brother one summer. We hit it off &amp; were great friends... until he gave a copy of his house key to a friend of his, and never told me about it. His friend let himself in the house at 2am one night, and woke me up in my third floor bedroom to see where Roommate was. I was terrified and startled! Roommate &amp; I didn't get along after that very well. </p> <p>2. When Mr. Jumper and I bought our house three years ago, we slowly took our time getting settled. The back of our house has lots of privacy, so I didn't hurry to put up curtains in our kitchen and dining room. Our next door neighbor came by one day when she saw us in our yard, and said, "Oh, I didn't know you had cats!" Apparently she'd been picking in through our curtainless windows. They invited my friend and I to a party and I decided to leave early because I need my sleep and we had an early class the next day. My friend wanted to stay so I gave her my key and went to bed. And the next morning she was still gone, downstairs, sleeping. They had slipped her a pill and raped her. Obviously it was an aweful experience and I still feel responsible because I left her there alone. Worst neighbors ever, and I had to see them for a whole year after that.</p> <p>Another not so bad, but still sucky neighbor was when we lived in a townhouse. She never had her dogs on a leash and they'd wander and poo in everyones yard. One day dh was walking our dog and I heard dh screaming at someone. Apparently her dog, not on a leash, came charging at my dog ready to attack. Dh stuck his foot out to stop him. He felt awful about it, but what do you do when your dog is about to be attacked??? He called the police but nothing happened. Luckily she was a renter and left soon after. </p>
