@Birdofafeather: I had a very similar experience when it came time to share our news with our friends. I was really concerned about a close friend of mine who started trying right around the same time we were and I was nervous about her reaction, if she didn't have the same news to share. In the end, I was very honest with her and after we told her, I explained that it had been hard for me to tell her, given the similar situations. She mentioned that she appreciated my attention to her feelings and that she was happy for us.

I tend to be over-senstitive to things like this so I may have made too much of it, but I think that my friend recognized that I was not trying to rub anything in, just wanted to share with her in an honest fashion.

Thanks for the advice! I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing something before I told them. I know they will be excited for me!

@Adira: I think you make a really good point. I'm always careful not to ask/assume but i know my other friends who aren't married or TTC may not know all the reasons why someone wouldn't want to tell right away.

I agree with telling her with everyone else! Don't single her out, it may make her feel worse.

I read this somewhere else and I think it makes sense.. don't single her out cause that might make her feel even worse. I'd just tell her with everyone else.

@Alivoo01: ditto. If she was trying for awhile, I would tell her first before telling the group to give her time to take in the news.

Maybe you could point out why you waited to tell them ("I wanted to wait until 11 weeks so that I don't tell people and end of miscarrying") so that maybe they'll take the hint and NOT ask your other friend if she's expecting.

Since she just started TTC, I think you're okay telling her along with the group of friends at once.

i posted this in general TTC to get opinions from people who maybe aren't PG yet, but i'd like advice all around. i'm telling my best girlfriends that i'm pregnant this weekend, but i know for a fact (we all do) that one of my friends is actively TTC. she could be pregnant for all i know (since i'm just telling them now at 11w and i haven't told them that we were definitely starting TTC).

my gut is to just tell her along with all my other friends at the same time, but i also don't want to put her in an awkward spot if it's not going well or if she just found out and then our friends ask her.

what do you think? am i over thinking this? i want to be sensitive without acting like she should be upset or something. i know she's been trying since about march/april if that makes any difference.
