Our nursery was above 80F every single day last summer, even with multiple fans and blackout blinds and blackout film. That was when LO was between 2-5 months old, so I was definitely worried, but there's nothing anybody could do, so at least I was reassured that everybody in my PEPS group was in the same situation. We just dressed her in nothing but a diaper and thin swaddle and kept an eye on the monitor, and she was fine. Its super annoying because I have to remember to run the AC during the day and then turn the heat on before bed. My son runs really hot and sweats so fleece is out for him. We had no AC, only a swamp cooler so it was harder to control the temperature. I don't think I could have gotten it down to 68 if I wanted to. It was usually 76-80 in the house, and we used ceiling fans. I have this little egg shaped thermometer that tells me the temp and changes color if it's too hot, too cold or just right. I don't think I can comfortably sleep when it's that warm in the house?</p> <p>In the winter we keep the bedrooms at about 65, their rooms are probably cooler. In the summer just about 70. They both run hot, so any warmer they will sweat and not sleep well. What would be the highest temperature you'd be ok with, in terms of risk? Especially of you live in a hot climate??</p> <p>We can either set a min or max temp on the thermostat, not both, so right now it is at a min of 70 but sometimes it gets warmer since we live in AZ, about 75-76 indoors. We use the ceiling fan, and sleep under a comforter in very light clothing. LO sleeps in a long sleeved sleeper and cotton swaddle. His hands usually poke out of the swaddle, and his hands and face are usually cold by the middle of the night. He seems to sleep better on nights when the temp is higher. Any thoughts? Anyone "let" their babies sleep in warmer-than-average rooms?</p> <p>Also, if in the summer I dress him in just a diaper and a wearable blanket/sleep sack, what do you think I could set the thermostat at? We used to do 80 in the summer with no baby, and sleep in just sheets and underwear. </p>
