@banana: yes, ours is on the wall... explains the weird fluctuations! it goes as far down as 71 degrees (the actual temperature we keep the upstairs at) and all the way up to 80 degrees!

I forgot to mention that we had to move the camera placement around a few times to get it accurate. if we put it too close to another object (like a wall or stuffed animal) it would give an inaccurate reading. we made sure it wasn't near any other objects and that's how we made sure it was accurate. we checked it against another thermometer that we had.

I'm pretty sure our monitor is off by at least 4-5 degrees - it always feels much cooler in his room than what the monitor reads!

We have two cameras. One is definitely accurate but the one mounted on the wall of wagon jr 's room is off by a good 10 degrees sometimes... And sometimes it's totally accurate. No idea why!!

We have our A/C set to 74 degrees (I know, a bit warm), but the temperature display on our LO's video monitor consistently shows it's 5-6 degrees warmer than that (79-80!!!). Our new thermostat doesn't show the current temperature so I don't really know what the actual temp in our home is.

Does anyone know if the video monitor temperature readings tend to be fairly accurate? Thanks!
