@happygal Thanks for your help. We are TTC. My trip is from tomorrow to April 7. If nothing changes I am supposed to O on April 24. I think I might just skip temping during trip. I can start temping and OPKs when I get back. Hopefully my cycle won't be thrown for too much of a loop, I already have long cycles and they don't need to get longer!

Hi @Mrs. 65: I read this earlier and was trying to think of an answer for you! I you charting to avoid or achieve pregnancy? I honestly think I would just pause from temping for the travels b/c things will be so off.

And yes, air travel threw off one of my cycles. I asked my doc about it, and she said the pressure when flying can delay ovulation!

I was temping a couple years ago when I went to Australia and just temped at the same time as I would normally at home - but in the new time zone. It was a TOTAL mess for a few days but then went back. I was there for two weeks so it might not make sense to do it for four days - once you get back to normal it'll be time to go home :( Maybe just opk twice a day while you're there?

@mrs. 64: I think the biggest factor on your temp is the hours slept, so I wouldn't worry about the time zone. That being said, if there's no risk of ovulation time happening during your trip I wouldn't bother. I never start temping until a few days before usual O anyway. Have fun on your trip!

I'm getting ready to go on a week long international trip (from the east coast to the UK) and I'm wondering how to handle temping. Is there a way to account for the time zone difference or should I just not bother with it while I'm there? It will be at the beginning of my cycle and not close to ovulation.

Also, do you notice that travel makes you have a longer cycle or messes it up in any way? The last trip I went on was only 4 days and within my time zone, but I had a super long and weird cycle that time. I know that travel can affect things, but I didn't know if it was due to that or just a coincidence.
