I have a similar problem, but it's not me that has to pee, it's my dogs. lol. So what I do is actually set an alarm for 1:30 and let them out to pee, and I go pee, My temping time is 5:45, so I have plenty of time to sleep again. I've noticed what affects it more is sleeping in - my temp goes WAY up if I temp even if it's at 6:30. So what I'm saying in a strange, roundabout way is the same time is more important than what time. Hah. =)

Thank you everyone! I will try it at 6:30 and if things seem off maybe I'll revisit the timing.

If you have at least 2-3 hours of straight sleep before your 6:30am wake-up then I would go ahead and take it then. I always woke up several times a night as well and found that as long as I had 2-3 straight hours of sleep I was always able to see a clear temp shift regardless of the time I temped. Goodluck!

Hi! Welcome!

I think the important thing is consistency, and that you've been asleep for something like 3-4 hours straight. So if you get up like clockwork every night (within say, 30 minutes) and you're going to bed 3-4 hours before that then I think you're fine. Or you could try it at 6:30 and see how that works out - if you're only getting up around 2, you're in bed again for plenty of time by 6:30.

I have the same problem with waking up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. I would just take it when you get up. If you are up to pee at 3, and then up for the day at 630, you are getting 3 hours of sleep in between. Which I believe is what FF wants you to have.

I am new to the boards but have been lurking around for awhile :) Hi!

I am going to start temping and charting next month. I know you are supposed to take your temperature at around the same time every day before you get out of bed however I am a horrible sleeper and usually wake up a few times a night and have to get up to go to the bathroom around 2 or 3. I officialy "wake up" at about 6:30 every day.

For those of you that have been charting awhile, what time do you recommend taking my temperature? When I first wake up around 2 or 3? I have had at least 4 hours of sleep at that point - but I would hate to make myself wake up everyday at that time if I am managing to sleep...

I am currently reading TCOYF but haven't come across any info on this yet.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
