I'm seriously surprised DH and I managed to stay together that year, it was THAT bad! Honestly, the best thing you can do is just be consistent and stand your ground. I think for my SS, it was the discovery of free will and "I don't have to do what you tell me to" and then being frustrated when we stood our ground as grown ups. </p> <p>Create boundaries and stick to them! I think it's because they are able to verbalized more and the defiance is more clear. I have thre little three year old boys and sometimes it's a nightmare. I have found that the worst mood swings often come with a growth spurt. Then they mellow out a bit. But I do have or son who just says (i use that term loosely because sometimes he's screaming or crying)no to everything. Sometimes he'll lash out on his sister, sometimes at us. We've been putting him through a lot of summer activities, so perhaps he feels like he doesn't have a say in anything? I have a feeling his third year will be much harder than his second year. Did anyone else experience terrible 3s with their toddlers? </p>
