I've been told by a handful of moms that the first 2 days can be rough, and then they adjust fairly well. Hopefully it'll turn around tonight!

We've been lucky in that our LO usually sleeps fairly well, as long as he's not close to us in the PNP. We just took a few days away a couple of weeks ago, and the closet was actually large enough that his PNP fit. He slept awesome all 3 nights, though he woke a little early. @jedeve Is there an option for him to have a separate area from you?

AHH oh no!! DS was always this way, great sleeper (12+) at home and multiple wakeups when we're away.

We just got back from a 5 day trip to the beach (with flying) and he miraculously did AMAZINGGGGG. I think the key differences were brining the marpac (we forgot it on our prev trip), keeping the room dark, and we also laid out his toys and clothes on the beds near his pnp to keep "home" things in his line of sight while we got him ready for bed. Also brought the same bath toys, etc. And we brought a pnp sheet he'd been using at home so it still smelled like "home."

I hope you get some better sleep!!

@jedeve: that stinks! I feel like when babies are taking I. Tons of new information during the day, they process so much more at night, resulting in fragmented sleep and frequent reassurance from parents.

I don't have any great advice except to keep the routine as similar to home as possible. He'll figure it all out right in time to pack up and go home. Then you'll have another week of screwed up sleep. It took us so long to get M back on track after our Montana trip this year!

Do you have the same white noise going as at home? That helped us a lot.

@jedeve: Sorry to hear that! I dealt with MAJOR jet lag with K on our Europe trip. I think my sleepless nights lasted 9 days. Hopefully he adjust soon? I was told 1 day for each hour of time difference from the ped. is normal.

Hellllp. We are miserable! One night of getting up four times, the next of being up for an hour. Everyone else is complaining he is keeping them up and then when we complain they are like "well that's what babies do." It's ruining our vacation.

It has gotten better for us, but honestly anytime we have a change in time zones it is a challenge. We were just away for a week and g did great, but them, we were in the same time zone.

Mine always sleep terribly when we go some place. The last time we weren't sleeping at home was Christmas time, DD finally slept through the night out of the house (she was almost three) but DS, who is my fantastic sleeper, woke up a LOT! I hope your little guy gets settled in quickly and sleeps better tonight.

Yeah just empathy here too. Anytime we sleep away from home it's pretty much guaranteed that she will sleep terribly AND wake up mega early to start the next day.

We are on vacation at the coast and ds is sleeping terribly. There is a one hour time difference. He usually sleeps 830-7 and gets up once to nurse around 430. Last night he was up at 1145, 130 330, and now 545. He's 7mo and definitely tweeting.

Help???
