We talked about it (we were TG for our first), but we wanted to make it as real as possible for E (he'll be almost 3.5 when she gets here). He likes to talk about his little sister a lot :)

Also, for us, it was just more practical to find out in advance. We were pretty sure we were one and done, and didn't have the storage space to keep all of E's old baby stuff on the 2% chance we'd have another, so we have to buy pretty much everything again :bummed:, but at least we know we can donate E's outgrown clothes.

Plus...I'm really glad we found out since she's a she. While I think I'll miss the "It's a girl!!!" in the delivery room, she'll be the first girl born to the family in a VERY long time, and it's a huge deal for the family...especially my MIL and SsIL, and they are all over the moon excited to be able to go buy girly things (before winter hits).

We are TG and my 3 year old doesn't seem to mind. She thinks it's going to be a girl, so we are trying to prepare her for it being a boy, but honestly I think it's going to be a tough transition no matter if she knows ahead of time or not.

@Charm54: :) DH really wanted to be TG for LO but I was adamant! This time, I don't have any preference for gender and think it'd be fun to have 9 months to dream about LO with a brother or sister!

We are TG with a 2 year old - she doesn't really understand the whole baby concept so she doesn't mind not knowing (ie doesn't know the difference). That delivery room moment is so special to me, that even if she was old enough to understand I would probably still be TG!

How old is your older LO? Mine just turned two and while he knows there's a baby in mommys belly he doesn't truly understand what that means for him so it hasn't been an issue.

We were TG with our first and part of the reason we didn't go TG with our second was because I wanted to help my daughter prepare/know what to expect. If she were younger I probably would have been TG again but she will be 3 when LO2 gets here and a lot of her friends have baby brothers or sisters already so she knows the difference.

Was anyone TG with a second pregnancy? Did your older LO care?

If we have a second, we are thinking of TG but I wonder how my toddler would take it, not knowing if he's getting a brother or sister? I know at daycare they talk a lot about siblings!
