When my husband and I visited Koh Kood during the spring, I stayed at a boutique resort called Bann Makok and had an amazing time. It's a little resort nestled in a lagoon and surrounded by mangroves. There are only 8 rooms at the resort- all of which are beautifully decorated in a shabby chic kinda way- making the entire place very cozy and intimate. The staff and service were so attentive and sweet!

http://www.bannmakok.com/Bann_Makok/Bann_Makok.html

The nearest beach is about a ten minute kayak ride away. On any given moment, there are no more than 15 people on the beach. Sometimes my husband and I had it all to ourselves. Sometimes we shared it with the staff of the resort and joined in their beach soccer games.

Koh Kood is a great island! There are a couple of fresh water waterfalls to swing into, few beaches to lounge on, a little local fishing town to visit... We went scuba diving and rented a motorbike to explore the island. There isn't too much of a night life, but it's definitely romantic.

Have a great honey/babymoon!!

I second Krabi. There's a wide range of places but it's not over the top like Phuket.

Krabi is nice. We've stayed at the Rayavadee Resort there. We had our own little pavilion to stay in and the resort has a private beach. It's only accessible by boat, which is provided by the resort. There's also water activities you can do, as well as rock climbing, and the restaurants are nice. If you walk further down the beach towards the less expensive hotels, there are some beach bars and such.

Hua hin was ok. We've stayed at the Anantara Resort there and there's also Evason. I'm not a huge fan of the beaches there, maybe because we've gone places where the water is so crystal clear, so I tend to do a lot of comparing, which I shouldn't. Hua Hin has a decent night market and little bars.

SO many of you know that hubby and i are leaving on our belated honeymoon this month and it will also end up being a babymoon since we will begin TCC in January and wont have an opportunity to take another trip for several years after.

We are going to Burma and exploring Bangkok but for the final leg we want a really awesome romantic beach in Thailand for 5 days. Ideally a mid range beachfront bungalow with AC and wonderful ambiance and on a beach that is nice and has some what of a night life but isn't crazy touristy. Ko Phi Phi and Phucket are out. Any suggestions?

Thanks Bees! I can't wait!!!
