If it's "from" one of his friends, I write from his perspective. Same with close family. If it's an adult friend (without children), then I usually write it from mine. If your child is young and you write thank you notes for gifts they receive, do you write them from the perspective of the child or from the parents? LO has some adorable note cards that say Thank You at the top and his name at the bottom so I'm not sure which would be appropriate.
