@irene: haha, if that happens, don't worry! We had a few days like that at first, but they're becoming few and far between.

@irene: so true. I think he could have done it sooner had I been ready to make the switch! I was too afraid (and lazy).

@mrbee: Thanks! How is Olive doing now? Any progress with pee pee in the potty?

@lamariniere: @Mama Bird: @Mrs. Yoyo: @Freckles: Thanks! I am very afraid that I may jinx it for us, like when I pick him up today they may tell me he has 5 accidents. In that case I will NOT report back haha

@Freckles: @Mrs. Pen: Haha, I think it is the moms (us) that needs the training to take that leap into the diaper-less zone! It helped me so much because my friend is doing the same thing with her son. She is the one who got me into being comfortable breastfeeding in public, and now being fearless encountering accidents as well as encountering public bathrooms anywhere :D

@808love: I do sit LO on the potty upon every wake up, but I can't control that his diaper is already wet! During the times when he wakes before I do, he may poop in his diaper and THEN tell me to come help him. I think that will only be corrected if I put him to bed in underwear. However I guess I'd wait until he wake up dry first, which seldom happens!

@irene: yes, I think it helps to have a mandatory sit down and try upon each wake up (not a long one, just a habitual one). Also making a potty noise psssssssss when they go, conditions them. It totally worked for us and she trained early with some mistakes but rarely ever at night. But I agree, one step at a time. Congratulations on the breakthrough!

Yes, the only way to learn is through lots of practice, which is adventurous risk taking! Yay for bravery.

My daughter just woke up out of a dead sleep just now and said Oh sorry Mom I think I had a little accident just now.

There was just a drop or two on her panty so I put her on the toilet and she went! Little bubba ...I also am feeling proud of her waking herself up just in time and I too share the joy of dryness as well.

I have written many posts about my potty training adventure and my latest was LO wouldn't pee outside of home (http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/advice-needed-toddler-potty-preference) - I got a lot of great advice here and I must say, we have a breakthrough after 1 week!

I talked to the teachers at daycare, and I explained to them that LO was in underwear at home 99% of the time, able to use potty to poop, and they gave me an OK to wear underwear to school. So he was in underwear to school the whole week last week. We didn't have any accidents at all for the entire week AT SCHOOL except on Friday during afternoon snack time. The tricky thing was during /after pick up. We had 3 accidents on 3 different days because he either wouldn't use the potty before we leave, or he still peed his pants after we used the potty before we leave, or we were stuck in traffic and he needed to go. We are working on it but he is now peeing in the potty at school! :D

And I also let him wear underwear when we go out on the weekends. We went to the store and picked out really special glittery stickers. He gets one sticker if he pees in the potty outside, and he loves it! We had one accident so far (that was because of my lovely husband continued driving aimlelessly without even thinking about the potty situation grrrr), but he is now willing to pee in the potty in outside bathrooms!! Yay!! And I have to say, accidents aren't as scary as I imagined them to be. haha

I am not saying we are potty trained as we are still having accidents here and there but I am so happy we had a breakthrough! Thought I'd gloat here!! :D
