It's just my parents & hubs & I this year, so nothing too extravagant. I need to sit down with my mom and figure out a menu. I'll let her do the turkey & stuffing, because I don't know how, ha....she's always done it! I'll probably take on a sweet potato dish, soup, and a dessert. I used to always make pies, and this year my dad finally got the nerve to tell me he's not a pie guy, so....I dunno. Maybe some sort of bread pudding? Cheesecake? Like I said, I need to talk it over with my mom, but my guess is that she'll do 3-4 dishes and I'll do 3-4 dishes...we just need to figure out what they are, lol.

Thanksgiving is my mom's holiday to host. I used to be in charge of a variety of appetizers, side dishes, and desserts.

This year my responsibility is to bring my newborn over to her Grammy's house.

We host, it's an open door policy for both sides. Both our parents are divorced and we let them know YEARS ago that if they want to see us they'll come to our house and put their differences aside. We we're tired of driving all over the place and have hosted forever. This is our 8th year. It's a different group every year :)

I always delegate one person to each of the following: wine, beer, rolls, dessert. I do the rest and you better stay the hell outta the kitchen until it's time for dishes ;)

I make all of the breads. Dinner rolls (regular and sweet potato), muffins and sweeter breads for breakfast, white bread for sandwiches the next day.

I'll also probably make a pie, and maybe a veggie side. I've been emailing D's aunt about the menu (she always hosts) and we're trying to figure out what it's missing.

I'll also just be a spare set of hands for her. Last year I went overboard with baking, this year I'm trying to not be as ambitious and just be available to help.

We host every year. Sometimes it's bigger, sometimes just my husband, me, my MIL (and of course DD). Last year I was hugely pregnant and took it easy - this year I am excited to go all out! Because there are only three of us, we keep it simple: Turkey, gravy, stuffing, cranberries, mashed potatoes, salad, pumpkin mousse pie. My MIL brings breakfast.

We usually go to my parents and DH and I make the potatoes (sometimes both mashed and sweet, sometimes just mashed). I also bring the annual weirdo vegetarian dish no one touches (last year's was quinoa with cranberries), and a dessert (also varies each year, last year was a chocolate cake, year before was cherry pie).
I actually really like making stuff and "contributing" - my sister never does, she just shows up to eat! :)

DH's parents live in our state now, so I'm not sure what the plan is this year. Also, I rarely cook or bake anymore with LO in the picture!

We host both sets of parents and siblings...so it's just 8 adults and 2 kids...sometimes neighbors or uncles/aunts without plans will join us but that varies year to year.

My in-laws bring green bean casserole and dessert

I'm hosting for the first time, but in past years I've made all the sides and desserts and the in-laws have made the turkey. I had thought my grandparents and my father and his wife were coming, but found out it's just going to be 6 of us plus the kids and am a little disappointed but in the end it's probably better.

This is the first year we're making Thanksgiving dinner so I'm super excited!! Our family normally goes out for a Thanksgiving feast at a nice hotel, but holy moly does it get expensive. So this year, I told my brother and my cousins we're hosting at my parents house, so we're taking care of the turkey and ham.
