Thankfully all of my relatives are 2+ hours away and I don't have to listen often. </p> <p>In my office though, there was a big baby boom this year so there's definitely a lot of advice thrown around there. It's a similar situation to what a PP mentioned, we all have done different things regarding deli meat, caffeine, diet soda, exercise, etc. which makes it pretty contentious at times. I personally will have a soda 4 times a week or so and without fail, each time someone has a commentary or wants to tell me that it'll cause me to miscarry. Um, thanks you lovely ray of freakin' sunshine. </p> <p>It sucks because you really can't do much about the advice, other than smile and nod, even when it's an 18 year old male intern who doesn't know what a uterus is. </p> <p>Don't even get me started on the belly grabbers... I've had some advice that I wouldn't ever follow, but I just shrug it off or explain why I'm not doing it. </p> <p>My MIL didn't want me going up and down the stairs too much and was concerned when she heard that we watched Zero Dark Thirty, because she thinks tense movies w loud noises might not be good for the baby, but I think it's adorable that she cares so much. It doesn't offend me at all- I mean, I'm not going to follow that advice, but I appreciate her caring. We had a catered lunch and one girl wouldn't eat the cold cut sandwiches but the other girl and I did. One girl worked out every day, the other was told to lay off exercise, I did nothing (mostly because I was lazy!).
