We've given a day care virus (fever, cough, pink eye AND runny nose) to my parents even though I thought we were all over it when we visited. Thank goodness my mom wisely told us not to come by my grandma's apartment just in case.

We are flying home today and I thought we had made it unscathed but DS was up all night in the hotel with a fever and now we are dealing with a screaming toddler in the other room we are trying to get to take a nap before our flight this afternoon. He slept maybe 2-3 hours last night so he is totally wired and I really don't want to have that kid on the plane.

I'm fairly confident that we spread norovirus, the gift that keeps on giving. It went through daycare the first week of Dec. Everyone in my house got it. I thought we were 100% better when we visited family Christmas week but one of the cousins got sick Christmas day (could have been another source too perhaps)... after visiting family Christmas Eve. My parents got it two days ago and they are staying with us so now I think we'll get it again.

My LO1 woke up yesterday with crazy snot from the Christmas Day gathering. She called out to me to come wipe her nose at 5am. Last night DH taught her to use a tissue and not wake mommy up to wipe her nose. Of course this morning I woke up with her screaming for me. She wanted to tell me she wiped her own nose. Awesome.

My 2.5 year old woke up sick this morning. I'm blaming it on Christmas eve dinner at my MIL's family where people insisted on giving him cookie after cookie without washing his hands (I said no since he wouldn't eat his dinner so they did it sneaking while I was busy with the 5 week old). I didn't want to go anyway because of the baby, this has me livid because I'm sure we'll all be sick now.

LO caught something when we visited family in October, but so far it seems like he didn't catch anything this time. He is overtired though. We were getting back on track until the ILs showed up for a surprise visit yesterday and he missed his nap. He is a really easy going kid so he did fine at the time. We put him to bed early but his night sleep was a mess and involved lots of crying. :crying:

Cobi woke me up in the middle of the night with a horrible sounding couch, and yesterday he had a low-grade fever.
I also felt something coming on yesterday, sore throat, cough, and congestion. Ugh!! Not fun.

My SIL found out the day after Xmas that she has strep and pink eye!! She was totally fine that day. I'm hoping if we don't have symptoms by now, we've escaped it.

No one seemed to be sick at any of our family gatherings so I think we're safe. It's never been a problem in the past either.

We have the only kids on this side of the family, but Dh brought home a cold to us before the visitors even arrived. So annoying- even the 11 day old baby is congested. :(

Our aftermath is mostly an over wired 2 year old and an overwhelmed mommy.

We had 5 total get togethers with extended families over the last 2 weeks. Christmas morning my oldest woke up with a cough and just seemed off, but she was hanging in there.

Then Saturday, she was a sad mess and my youngest started to cough. We were lucky in that we could do PJ day and everyone was able to get in naps and we were lazy Sunday as well. Anyone else catch germs at family get togethers? It never fails for us to get something due to cousins/ect. getting together and playing with new toys and passing germs!
