@T.H.O.U.: one of my most fav toys as a child was my doll pack and play! I thought it was SO COOL that when my mom packed up my brothers, I could pack up mine too. A little bag and all, lol. I also loved my double doll stroller!

@polkadots: You and me from toys r us. Honestly it wouldn't be my first choice.... I love the stroller but for the other stuff I'd prefer wood. They were gifts though so I can't complain :)

@polkadots: We have this graco doll infant car seat and she loves it. We also have a little graco umbrella stroller that is really sturdy (pushes her at 30 lbs).

http://amzn.com/B003OPTVSA

If you get a doll high chair, I would look for a heavier one with a solid base. Some of them with little legs frustrate her a lot because they tip over easily as she is trying to put her dolls in/out.

The best doll beds I have seen are actual mini-pack and plays. They actually colapse down like a pack and play does.

@jmarionsmith: @Mrs. High Heels: @Pancakes: @mrs.cookie: @SugarplumsMom: Thanks Everyone! I love it, I obsessed over how to make if months, and changed my mind a million times. Its an old toy chest, we added some height by attaching the bottom part that sticks out. and I bought all of the pots, pans and etc from goodwill. I think it ended up costing us like $75 total.

@T.H.O.U.: good to hear! It was between the baby gear or a teepee for her birthday. I've been doing alot of research and browsing and decided to go with baby gear. (I can't stop looking until I find the best deal) (OCD maybe?) Teepee for Christmas since were moving between her birthday and christmas so it'll be easier then.

@polkadots: No advice, but I LOVE your play kitchen. I was infatuated with making my own play kitchen, but it just didn't work out! I scoured flea markets for a cabinet or anything with a drawer that would work, but just could not find one that roughly matched the height of the play stove we got her and width of the area it should fit into without doing some major renovation to it. We don't have many tools so even if we did find one, it would have been really difficult to make it look pretty. It's now months later and I'm still lamenting over not being able to make her one. I just had to say that I think it's absolutely wonderful that you made one and IT LOOKS GREAT!

Sorry for the novel :P

@polkadots: I love that kitchen!!! It's so professional!

I'm planning to make a dolls house out of a bookshelf for my dd's Christmas present, using fabric/wallpaper/carpet off cuts etc. my ds loved dolls and pretend play at 2, we got him a load of schleich wild animals and a play table. He had hours of imaginative play and the animals are going strong nearly two years later!

Let us know what you decide!

What a gorgeous play kitchen! We got LO a tricycle for her 2nd birthday, but I find we don't use it as much as I'd like (just due to our yard/driveway/street situation). For Christmas we are planning to get her a nice wooden dollhouse...if you made that kitchen you could totally make a dollhouse!

LO's 2nd birthday is just around the corner and I'm having a hard time deciding what to get her. We only buy her toys on special days (christmas, birthdays..etc.) never usually just because. So I'd like to get her or make her something bigger, something that won't just be at the bottom of the toy box. We've already made her a kitchen for Christmas last year, any ideas?
