Ummmm.... lo is 16 months and I don't know where that time went! I'm a sahm so I literally am there for every second of her life. Ok that's a lie, I do go out for an hour or two every once in awhile .... but for the most part we're together. Like the other ladies said I take tons of pictures, I do at least a photo a day but usually more.

i just try to focus on the positives of her getting older. The fun stuff. She's walking, talking, becoming such a sweet and funny girl. Makes it easier to be less sad about missing my baby.

I feel the same way. I was feeling guilty that I didn't start my son's baby book and take his footprint until 6 weeks and he was already so much bigger than he was in the beginning. What put my mind at ease was that he's still a baby and will be for many more months. In the grand scheme of his life, the whole first year is the baby part. That mindset helped me realize he'll still be a baby even when he's sleeping longer stretches (which he is now at 11 weeks!) and I'm out of the initial newborn fog.

Like @Beehive said, taking lots of photos is so nice! I took multiple cell phone pictures a day and I have them printed straight off of my phone and have been putting them in a photo album! Not anything special but it is absolutely amazing being able to look back and see how much she had changed and how big she has gotten! She recently turned 4 months so I need to print all of my 3 month photos out and add them to my book! I started with pictures of my pregnancy tests, maternity pictures, baby showers pictures, birth through 3 months and I already have close to 400 pictures...lol It's crazy how fast the time flies by, and let me tell you, it doesn't slow down either! I feel sort of guilty I don't take AS many pictures but I still take quite a few weekly :) Just relax and enjoy your LO, try not to worry about anything else like picking up the house or doing laundry or dishes, all of that stuff can wait. You need to spend as much time as you can with your baby and try and enjoy it. Your rest is WAY more important than anything around the house ;)

I feel like the entire first 6 months were a blur! Don't feel bad ... I think it's hard to not feel that way with a small baby.

I know what you mean, my son is 7 weeks old and some days I think he actually looks older than he did the day before! The time really does fly by. One thing that has made me feel better is taking lots of photos and little video clips. I don't know how much it helps me feel more present, but looking through the early photos at least I feel like I have a great record of his development.

Our son just turned one month old yesterday and I feel like the last few weeks have gone by in an incredibly blur. I am trying so hard to savor each day while he is this small but between sheer exhaustion and just trying sometimes to make it through the day, the time is just flying by. I feel like I am missing out on some of the amazing early stages because of this.

Did you ever feel like you were in an incredible "blur" at this early stage? What, if anything, helped for you to enjoy the time more and feel like you were more present?
