@StbHisMrs: Not sure if that was what helped but I've been having bad allergies too so I'm taking it along with local bee pollen!

We have been battling this as well. We did an antibiotic for possible mycoplasma (walking pneumonia). Which is good because I was just positively diagnosed with them. So now I am on antibiotics. Yeah it's been fun...

Mine has a constant cough because of post nasal drip caused by allergies. Maybe it's an allergy situation and that's why it hasn't gone away?

@StbHisMrs: My DD had a similar cough that lasted about a month and a half. Sometimes runny nose, but otherwise no symptoms and it was only when she slept too. Not really during the day. We did all the same things and even got some local honey thinking maybe it was allergies. It just went away for good last week. Doctor said if she got a fever bring her in but it was just the cough.

I found my blog post on it for you because it's hard to remember details. I just skimmed it and I wrote that it started as a tickle, then eventually got more phlegmy.

@StbHisMrs: my symptoms were actually much worse than lo's. He wasn't extrmely bothered by it. And when they tested him, I was surprised. By the trick is that it just keeps getting worse. I do think his was worse than a tickle, but it's a dry cough.

@Mrs Green Grass: I second this.

I have a friend who just had her LO tested this week for pertussis due to a never ending cough. It came back positive so that's definitely my first thought here, too.

@Mrs Green Grass: They didn't sound too concerned, but they'd like to see her on Tuesday.

Is their a fever or other symptoms with whooping cough? She has a very shallow dry "tickle" cough.

I would take him in to have them test for whooping cough. LO andni both had it last October. It's easily treatable with the right antibiotic. It commonly gets worse after the first few weeks.

My lo has had a cough since the first week in March, it's been off and on since, no other symptoms except a runny nose sometimes.

It has been getting worse everyday since Wednesday, we've been up from 2am - 4:30/5ish each day, and tonight I can't get it to go away.

She has a dr appointment on Tuesday, they said to give her Benadryl and honey, so I have, no help. The humidifier, a diffuser with eucalyptus, breathe easier, and peppermint hasn't helped, vick's hasn't helped!! She currently propped up on the couch (covered with towels just in case), I wish I could make this go away!!
