@Bluebonnet: @jetsa: @birdofafeather: thanks :-)

He slept 13 hour straight no issue, so that just proves he was ready I guess. I'm glad it wasnt traumatic for him :heart:

@jetsa: that was the final thing that gave the push...knowing that DD will be here in 4 months so IF we were going to wean him it had to be done sooner rather than later so he didnt get confused as to why the new baby could nurse and he couldnt. High five to us though for making it so far!

@Mrs squirreld: Great job! We had the exact same experience in the first trimester except it was our morning session. He was playing and fussing and probably not getting much and DH finally made the call that we needed to give him his sippy and that was it. He doesn't miss it, every now and then (when he needs comfort I think) he'll reach down my shirt so I'm interested to see what happens when little miss arrives.

I plan to start the weaning process at a year old. As much as I want it, I know it'll still make me sad.

Congrats on making it to 16 months!

Hugs! That's how I felt when my LO self-weaned at 13 months. He didn't even seem to notice. but congrats on making it 16 months, that's an amazing accomplishment :)

My little boy is 16 months old and I'm 20 weeks pregnant....he was down to just one nursing session at night time. I was noticing him become less and less interested and to be honest I don't even know if I still have any milk left. I really wanted to make it to 2 years and was happy to tandem feed. He was starting to hurt me I think just out of boredom so I knew it was time....but I didn't think he would be this unfazed. I cried, he didn't and he fell asleep on his own within 5 minutes. So sad :-'( proud to have made it this far though.
