The first time I had to leave LO overnight was for my friend's wedding, and I asked my in-law's to watch him. He was almost 2 years old, and everyone is scared to watch him due to his allergies and eczema. But we ask whenever we need a babysitter; we alternate between the two mom's so it's even. First time we went to a marriage conference (DD was 18m) and second time a self-defense course (DD was 30m and DS was 8w). She'll be older though, 18 months. He stayed with my parents for 3-4 days. They offered long before we took them up on it since they do the same for my brother's family. It was nerve wracking at first for me. LO loved it there and had a great time. How old were they? </p> <p>My parents watch LO usually one afternoon per week so Dh and I can spend time together. They have offered to have her longer, say from morning to evening, most of the day, but we haven't felt the need to leave her that long yet. We have a wedding to travel to in July where we will have to stay overnight. It would be amazing if my parents could have her so we didn't need to take her, but I'm not sure how to approach asking them. LO will be 10mths. I don't know what her sleep will be like then obviously, but at the moment she goes down without a peep at 6pm and sttn, so hopefully they wouldn't need to do much extra! </p>
