@farawayviolet: Have you checked to see if your insurance will cover a non-dairy based formula? If baby has a diagnosis from a doctor, some insurances will reimburse you. (End threadjack)

MOST frustrating? That bf-ing is the only way to get her back to sleep at night. Naps aren't an issue, but for some reason nighttime sleep will only happen after bfing. Mama's tired, kid!

Never getting a break. Round the clock feeding or pumping.

Really lopsided boobs [O o] since LO could only use one breast.

Painful sex.

It's been 6 months since I stopped breastfeeding my now 20 month old, and the frustrations are still fresh!

1) being the only one who could feed him in the beginning 2) having to adjust my diet to minimize impact to him 3) when he'd pop on and off constantly but then get upset when I'd stop 4) the fact that he'd never feed under a breastfeeding cover. 5) but the hardest was wanting to give him exclusively breastmilk but not making enough for his daycare needs

Everything about breastfeeding and being a working mom.

When she would pull back from my boob, but forget she was still latched on, so she would take my nipple with her. Um, ow?

Being the only one who could do feelings really got to me in the beginning. Even though I pumped for one bottle a day, the rest of the 12 feelings were all me.

1. When S decides to pull off me without unlatching.

2. When S decides to pull off, grin at me, and then latch and take 3 sucks, over and over again. Cute but also annoying.

The only really frustrating part for me was how distracted LO would get at times, especially when I nursed in public. Luckily it was a phase and didn't last forever.

DD loves to grab handfuls of my breast. Ouch.

We also discovered she is intolerant to milk-based formula (we haven't tried others but are on a limited budget). I was considering doing the occastional formula because I hate pumping (like 2-3 times a week) for when I have meetings etc, but looks like pumping for me.

Thus far, only that I'm the only one who can feed her. Wish DH could do some of the night feedings.

(Low supply)

H does this uncoordinated left shark thing where he tries to make up his own latch moves. I have to get him to chill out before I can get him on. Once he gets close, the kid is like a barracuda.

DD 2 does this maneuver where she tries to push off of me with her hands while she's nursing. It's incredibly frustrating because then she has problems latching. Hello! Just stop trying to push off me!

DD 1 used to looove pulling on my hair. Even now as a toddler she plays with her hair or mine when sleepy. I keep it all up now when nursing DD 2. ;)

DD 1 also looved to pinch my nipple. Thankfully DD 2 is not as fascinated with that!

What parts of breastfeeding do you find frustrating?
