My sweet little baby will never be eaten by a dingo. Phew.

And my close friend has one of those babies. Like, she's holding him and says, oh are you tired? Lays him in the crib and closes the door, pampers style. Meanwhile when I put the baby in the crib, I creep out like a spy afraid of waking her.

@scg00387: That's the kicker, isn't it? Now he will really only sleep in his crib, or sometimes he'd doze during our early morning nursing session, which he's now dropped :(

@lovehoneybee: Yup mine rarely sleeps in his carseat and has never once slept being worn or in his stroller. So frustrating to have people say OH but just put him in his car seat!! (thanks, never though of that!). Of course, now that he's is older I wish I could get him to sleep on me and snuggle

Haha thanks for this. I remember seeing a baby fall asleep just lying on a mat at postnatal yoga. I wanted to cry and scream all at once.

@scg00387: E would fall asleep when he was being held--but ONLY when he was being held! We ended up co-bedding because it was THE ONLY WAY he'd sleep. He slept in my arms for 99% of his naps for almost 6 months...and was such a light sleeper that I could barely shift without waking him up!

But yeah, putting a baby down on a blanket at a party to sleep? No way. One of D's coworkers did that at a holiday party at a BOWLING ALLEY last year. I wanted to throw something, lol!

@lovehoneybee: HAHA this is SO SO SO true. I STILL get angry, which is insane, when I see a baby or toddler just fall asleep while playing or their parent is holding them.

"I was at the Moms’ Group Christmas party and Kai’s mom looked at him and said, “Buddy, are you tired?” She then spread a receiving blanket on the floor, put this slightly cranky child down and he fell asleep. He fell asleep! What the hell?!? Clearly she’s drugging this kid. No shushing. No patting. No nursing. No driving around the block pleading. The little bugger just fell asleep. I swear to God I wanted to drop kick the fruit tray across the room and scream, “What the fuck am I doing wrong!?”

I wish I had read this 15. 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9....you get the point...months ago. I was so convinced that I must be doing something wrong when at even a year old my kid wasn't sleeping through the night. Hell, he still only sporadically sleeps through the night!
