Yes. He's taken a massive drop in the line and at first it was an issue but now he knows it's a given and eventually it will get fixed.

this is definitely true in our household. how is he coping? not sure... he is buried in work alot, so he's busy...

on the same token though, i come last in line too. my kids' needs definitely come before my own. i hardly have any time for myself, and if i do, it's when i'm multitasking (like right now actually).

i think we cope by watching our tv shows together and ordering in good food (or eat out alot on weekends).

@adira We made a conscious decision to invest our extra time into launching Hellobee. :-)

I feel like I still give my husband about the same attention when he is home. He gets less during the day as I used to email or chat with him pre-LO but I guess I don't do that anymore because I have too many things to get done during the day. I have heard no complaints from him, but I guess now I should ask him just to be sure!

@Mr. Bee - do you feel that this is true?

I'm curious - as your children get older, does the priority switch back towards the husband (or even out more)? I'd like to think I'll still make my husband a priority once we have kids, but I can't know until it happens.

I'm pregnant with no little ones yet, but I know DH is already worried about this. He keeps saying when the baby arrives he will be chopped liver. He's right. I take good care of him now (sorry, I'm a doter) and that is going to have to give a little. My mommy guilt is already starting!

We're only NTNT right now, but DH is very much concerned with this topic. While he realizes that this will naturally happen, he's definitely requested that we have our "date nights" to ensure we still have our "us" time. I'm happy to oblige right now, though my sentiments may change once a baby is actually in the picture.

Someone commented on Bee's latest post: "the hubs is last in line, but he understands. we’re basically in survival mode these days…"

I think it's pretty common for the dad to massively drop in priority after a child is born.

Has that been true for you guys? Also: how is your SO dealing with being lower priority?
