@avivoca: Yeah, I think you're right.

After over an hour of drama last night - fighting the Live 2 Dream, then flailing about in a sleep sack - I swaddled her and she fell immediately to sleep.

@Cherrybee: I think you might just have to tough it out without the swaddle.

@Kemma: @Mrs. Lion: @sorrycharlie: So we bought the Love 2 Dream but S hates it. She can still rip her dummy out through the fabric and still hits herself in the face, but she seems furious that she cant move her arms properly. She slept one night in it - no better no worse than she usually sleeps bursting out of the swaddle - then last night we couldn't get her to settle in it at all. :crying: She looks so cute in it though!

We had luck with the Merlin Suit starting at 11 weeks. She really hated the swaddle around 10. Is there any way to get one, like ebay or something?

I've heard amazing things about the Love to Dream and also the zipadeezip! I've never used either though.

When my DD started breaking out of the swaddle and wanting her hands out I switched her to a sleep sack and put her down on her tummy. I know that's not for everyone though :wink:

@Pollywog: She naps in her cot in her room. I'm not sitting in there for 4hrs a day! :happy: She's actually getting pretty close to rolling, bless her. I really thought she was going to do it today.... but she gave up!

I was going to suggest Merlin suit, which was perfect at that stage. Someone could be selling one secondhand that you could get hold of?

How's her arm strength and rolling? What we did was put him on his belly (with us in the room) for naps. His hands didn't bother him that way

We did the Halo swaddle and did 1 arm out for a bit and then just wrapped the wings around his torso for a while (I think the bound feeling in his middle was comforting) and then we went to sleep sack. But we are pretty much get it over with type people.

@Mrs. Sunshine: I tried that the other day and it made her legit mad! 😂

Can you get the "Love to Dream" swaddles in the UK? It might be a nice middle step while S gets her wee hands under control! The other thing you could possibly try is unswaddling (or just loosely swaddling) S for just one of her naps so that she gets a chance to adjust? We did this with Felix and it seemed to work for him!

And yay! For having a sleeper this time around!!

I'm not sure what to do for the best. My oldest was a horrible sleeper so it didn't really matter what we did (!), but S is a great sleeper - falls asleep independently, with a few dummy replacements, and only wakes 1-2 times per night - so I'm terrified of breaking it!!

S is 17 weeks now and loves her hands. She gnaws on them all day long. But when she's tired, she gets crazy hands - they fly about, smacking her in the face and ripping her dummy (paci) out. She is still swaddled, but she fights the swaddle now and has started waking herself up by bursting out of the top! We tried her without the swaddle once and it was a disaster, her crazy hands went wild!

Any ideas? The Merlin Magic sleepsuit isn't available here. I'm not sure whether to go through a few difficult nights to see if she can be swaddle weaned, or stick with the swaddle and deal with her bursting out..... we cant let her cry for even a second because E is a really light sleeper and wakes at the slightest peep; she's only been STTN for two months so I'm not going to risk it.

She takes 4 1hr naps a day and falls asleep almost as soon as the swaddle is fastened. I dont want to break it.....
