I am the big sister of twins-- boy/girl though!-- and I think the shirts are cute also! Glad I'm not in the minority :) But I also think surprises are what make life wonderful.

I have a few sets of identical friend twins but by the time I met them they dressed themselves very differently, weighed different amounts, were interested in different stuff, and had different sexual orientations, basically just were totally different people so they didn't seem identical if that makes sense.

@Mrs. Blue: I know this sounds cliched but sometimes I think about how I would about die of happiness if I had two of my kid smiling back at me. You are going to have so much fun!

I have identical twin boys. I could tell them apart from day one. I sometimes wonder what other people see when they look at my sons. I see two completely different little guys but people tell me all the time they look so much alike. I think the shirts are cute. Our twins were absolutely not planned considering we had just adopted our oldest son but I don't think they will ever feel unloved they were just a very welcome surprise!

My younger sisters are very identical twins, we just put a tiny little bracelet on one of them to tell them apart.

My parents still get them mixed up sometimes, and can't tell their voices apart to save themselves!

I love those shirts though, if I ever have twins/multiples I'm totally doing the same thig!

I have identical nephews and have no trouble telling them apart. While they are identical, one looks more like mom and the other like dad- I think it's their eyes. All it takes me is a glance to see who is who.

PS- LOVE those shirts, they had me cracking up!!

I always joke that one was planned and one was an oops, we just don't know which one was which. Not sure I would joke about it after they are actually here, though! I never want them to question that we really want them both!

I worry all the time about whether I'll be able to tell them apart, but I think it's not really a likely problem. I've heard that there is usually enough size difference initially that you can easily identify each one that way. And then you learn their differences. I have always been able to pick out my grandma in photos with her twin because my grandma's face is a little wider and my aunt's features are ever so slightly sharper. If you weren't around them much, I suppose you wouldn't pick up on those things right away, though.

I think those shirts so funny and cute... adorable.
I honestly don't think it's a big deal if parents say their child wasn't "planned" - you don't have to plan them to love them. My parents didn't plan on 6 kids but that doesn't make some of us feel more loved than the others ;)

there are some twins I can't tell apart, but some where there are slight or even big enough differences that make it easy. I think as a parent it's easier to tell.

I always thought if I had multiples I'd probably get ID ankle bracelets hahaha! for the first year then I assume you'd know by then ;)

My friend just had her identical twin boys last night and I've been wondering this exact thing! Except for now, one was born 2lbs less than the other. I'm guessing that's going to make things easy for awhile. :)

It's surprisingly easy to tell identical twins/triplets apart! There are always little things that differentiate them... one might have a wider face, and another might have a blue vein under their eye. At least, those were true for my brother and me. :)

If you parent a multiple, you generally have no problem keeping track of who is whom! It gets harder when they're a bit older though... but by then, they know who they are so it's ok!

I looove those shirts. When my twin sisters were born it was really easy to tell them apart because one had a dislocated hip and so for a while it was bruised... and then after a while it was just easy :), at least for my mom and I! My dad had a hard time telling them apart lol

If you've got triplets, it's not unlikely that they'll come early and spend some time in the NICU, in which case you'll definitely be able to tell them apart! Plus just about all sets are fraternal. I wonder how common identical triplets are?

But this thread does ask some legit questions-- how do you tell three identicals apart in the beginning and does it really matter in the end? Are names fluid? Multiples or parents of multiples, speak out and let us know!

Also, are these shirts insulting? I was assuming they'd take turns being the "planned"/"unplanned" one :)
