Tights. You can have tons of fun with the patterned ones and you won't have to worry about socks

@wheres_c: I'll have to look across the pond, then! Maybe my baby is European. ;)

@swedishfish: Carter's is definitely our go-to brand, as it seems to fit DD best. I'm pulling her socks up so high, the little frogs on today's pair look like giant, green blobs.

@Weagle: Ah, yes, dresses and tights are working well, right now. Good (and bad) to know this will happen again, many times over.

@scg00387: Good suggestion. I can barely sew a button, but my husband is a wiz. I'll bring it up, as this could help. We have *so* many 6 month outfits.

Hm and other European pants work will for our long and thin baby.

I would just hand sew to tighten the bigger sizes!

We go in and out of those phases. Lots of dresses and tights when we're in one.

R has long legs too...I can't really buy her one piece outfits because the legs are always too short. Carter's pants seem to work pretty well for her though with socks on.

DD is a little over four months, and is a long and petite baby. She fits nicely in 0-3 or 3 month tops and dresses, but her legs go on for days. Most of her 3 month pants are borderline capris at this point, and several of her sleepers are being stretched by her length.

I've tried the next size up, and she's absolutely and utterly swimming. 6 month sleepers look like trash bags, and fall off both her shoulders, and the elastic waistbands of 6 month bottoms don't even touch her sides.

I'm looking for a temporary solution until she bulks up a bit. Should I just pin 6 month pants? Throw thick tights under her too-short leggings? I don't want her little legs getting cold as we head into chillier weather.
