I think that sounds pretty cool! I hated temping, so something like this would work better for me. But I agree on the concerns about a transmitting device inside my body...

@CakeLady: Me too.

I don't need something this high-tech in my life. I think I'd rather just temp the old fashioned way.

I would be really hesitant to stick any kind of transmitting device inside of my body.

I feel weird about the idea of sticking that kind of equipment up my hoo-ha.

Wow, this is pretty interesting! What a high-tech way to TTC, I'm definitely intrigued. I do think it's pretty funny that they call it "elegant." I mean does it really need to be elegant given where you're putting it? :-P But assuming it's accurate, I think it seems like it could be helpful.

I was talking to my friend who did natural infertility interventions and she said she had a monitor that measured her temp 6000 (?) times a day! I wonder if this is using that same technology?

I'd be game to test it out, but I do worry what would happen if I had to go on a flight (would it be detected in the security screening, would I have to remove it) and I am not sure about the data transmission, and if we know enough about the long term effects.

I think I would try it if we ever decided to TTC again. My wakeup times are not consistent throughout the week and I sometimesI found I was forgetting to take my temperature so another option would be great.

The only thing that I don't like is what @PurplePumps: mentioned about transmitting data, that's kinda weird.

I don't think it could be as reliable as charting BBT for the full month.

I see it as a replacement for OPKs, not BBT charting. If you have irregular cycles it could still give you a false positive if your temperature doesn't stay up. I'd rather have a full month of info (and measure it from outside my body)

Looks cool but my Target BBT is good enough for tracking my temp shifts!

That looks kind of interesting, but I don't think I'd try it. The morning BBT is accurate enough for me, and I'm not sure how I feel about an electric device sending RF waves or whatever they are using to transmit data to my phone up in my lady bits so close to all the precious organs..

Just came across this - it isn't available yet but pretty interesting how it works

-----------------
BLOOM is an elegant, self-inserted temperature sensor that is able to detect the subtle changes that occur before ovulation that other methods are unable to detect, then sends an alert to her smartphone when she is most fertile.
learning your rhythm

BLOOM pinpoints the window of fertility, without having to actively engage in data collection. Simply insert BLOOM ring once per month, and let BLOOM do the rest.
-----------

would you try it?
