I haven't had to use them yet, but I went ahead and purchased curtains for the nursery (pbk) that already had blackout panels.

@Andrea: We were in an apt, not a hotel. When we finally got to the hotel LO slept soooo good! Now I know it's worth the money to bring our own blinds or get a hotel.

@Sammyfab: We only had two rooms with air conditioning so we were stuck there. But I'll have to check into those blinds!

@sorrycharlie: I don't know what we use, we just got a cheap pair because we have pretty curtains over them.

@sorrycharlie: you can buy blackout fabric by the yard. Then you can chop it up all you want. In the past we found it at Walmart but their fabric selection is reducing.

@artbee: what type of blackout blinds do you use? the nursery has a half window on the floor (old house, slanted ceilings) so I struggle with paying for blackout curtains I'll have to chop up. blinds would be amazing!

We have the Gro Anywhere blinds that we plan to take everywhere we travel because they work so well. We just got back from vacation and we set up LO's crib in the bathroom because that was the darkest place. It worked amazingly!

We've found that hotels generally have good blackout curtains so DD has slept in. We have stayed in some open air hotels (not with the LO) and it was always annoying that you could not sleep in!

At home we use blackout blinds and lo sleeps till eight. We're on vacation and our first stop in Brooklyn had no blinds. She was up at six every morning. Now we've switched to a hotel in Soho that has a big thick curtain over the window, and its almost nine ..... she's still sleeping! Catching up on all that sleep she's missed I guess. Next vacation we're bringing something with us to cover the windows.

Do you use blackout blinds or curtains? What do you do when you travel?
