We leave it at 70 year-round. It's chilly in the winter, but I just cover up with a blanket. In the summer, it's still chilly, so when he's gone I bump it up to 72 and turn on the fans.

We agree. 68 in the winter to heat. 72ish for AC in the summer.

In general we agree (we both like it cold). I will adjust it some if someone is sick and he is fine with that (I don't think he ever touches it).

When we first moved in, I think we had a few disagreements about it but that doesn't happen anymore. I think DH has become less strict about it and we've figured out the temperature we're most comfortable at.

Now, when I lived at home with my parents, it was ALWAYS on ongoing issue so I'm really glad DH and I are on the same page!

I wouldn't say we agree because DH is easy going and even if he wanted it different he doesn't care what its at.
I leave it at 68 in the winter - if you're cold put on a jacket!

We agree, but it's more a compromise. I'd love it to be warmer and he'd like it to be cooler, so we've settled on a temperature that we're both mostly comfortable with!

We agree. Even though it's still cold here (but above freezing), we've had the heater off for weeks. Our apartment stays really warm, somehow.

@Applesandbananas: oh my! my ILs keep their heat at 75 in the winter and i felt like i was going to pass out at Christmas! we keep ours at 68 in winter and bump it up to 70 if we get cold. what's crazy is they will have the heat on at 75 in the winter but if the house was 75 in summer they'd be sweating and complaining about the heat!

We sort of agree. DH likes it cooler and I can't stand how much it costs to heat our house, so I just pile on layers. In the summer, the reverse happens (where DH will want to save by not using the A/C all day), so that works out too.

We agree mostly. It's usually not as cool in here during summer as either of us would like so we suffer together lol otherwise we would have a $400 electric bill and just....no thanks.

In general we try to use the heat and air as little as possible but I always open our patio door and windows and then DH will close them as he is unaware that I just opened them. It's kind of a battle that he hasn't noticed yet and I laughed when he did it tonight because I thought of this thread!
