@MsMini: P had kind of done that when she's really hungry even without teeth! eek!

@rachiecakes: Glad to hear that biting wasn't something that happened often!

@LittleGBee: P already likes to practically pull my nipple off when she gets bored! I'm sure I'll have to get my vigilant with breaking the latch or not letting her snack as much when she distracts easier.

@Mrs. Superhero: So far P hasn't really been a biter so hopefully she doesn't start! *fingers-crossed*

both my girls bit, but it had nothing to do with how many teeth they had, they just bit while teething when they were biting everything in sight. They both also stopped on their own at 8 months or so.

It's nerve wracking!

My DD (14 months) has a mouth full of teeth, (like all molars and canines) and not much has changed to be honest. She bit me twice, once was more her getting used to her new bite etc, than agression. The second time was at the end the nursing session when she was bored. After that bite, I was vigilant for a couple of weeks about breaking the latch if she looked bored and she got the hint that I meant no funny business. She does leave indent marks on me now, but they don't bother me at all and there are ways to work on it if it does.

I know I only made it to 11 months but DS had 8 teeth and I was scared too! He only bit me twice, first time he was half asleep & I jumped back but he didn't cry, we were both just surprised, haha. And the second time was the very end where he was refusing.

Sawyer top 3 teeth (number 4 is close behind), do rub a bit on my aereola while he is nursing, his latch the same, but when he sucks hard the skin pulls back and forth over it which is quite tender. He does nip a bit more now that they are in, and that sucks big time.

We've got 4 teeth on top and 2 on the bottom, still not bites so far. I haven't notice a change in her latch, it's just business as usual for us here :)

I was scared too, but it didnt change Liv's nursing at all. She had both top teeth pop in on the same day. It took her a minute to be like "woah...there's something different!" But no chewing, chomping, or biting. She would bite very rarely. Like if she had a stuffy nose and need to breathe from her mouth, occasionally she'd bite, but It was super rare. When I weaned her at 18 months, she had 11 teeth (4 top 4 bottom 3 molars) and still no biting. Don't be too scared :)

P has her first top tooth ALMOST cut through and I'll be completely honest... I'm scared! So far she hasn't really bitten me with her bottom teeth, but I know I'm more protected from them when she nurses than I will be from her top ones!

How have you other momma's dealt with the top teeth? Did your lo have to re-learn their latch? Have you been bitten alot whether accidentally or purposefully?

I'm hoping since she doesn't seem to be a biter than I'll stay lucky, but I'm totally scurr'd. lol
