Yesterday was weird! She slept from 11-330 and then 6-8. Down for the night at 845 and STTN (still asleep now!)

I hope she is well rested for daycare this week!

Three to two was actually pretty easy for us (4 to 3 another story!) her AM nap got really long and pushed back the PM nap. We had a week or two that she woke up early from the PM and needed extra early bed (6- 6:30) but it eventually evened out into 2 1.5 hour naps.

After dropping to 2 naps my son slept2.5-3 hours total during the day. 1.5 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon and 10/10.5 straight overnight. He has never been a sleepy kid.

Wow! That is one crazy long nap!! I don't see any possible way to fit in a 2nd nap today unless you want her going to bed at midnight!

When we went to 2 naps the awake time between naps was between 3-3.5 hours but the time before bed was always a bit shorter (that's just what my LO preferred). I would also limit naps to 2 hours each or else I wouldn't be surprised if she started having middle of the night parties because she's sleeping too much during the day.

Holy cow sleepy baby! We do two naps bc he just stopped taking his third but they're usually an hour to an hour and a half each. If its not affecting her night sleep I'd just celebrate and soak it up )

@Penny Lane: right? She's been doing 2 naps at daycare all week but theyve only been an hour each. Maybe she is making up at home when I can keep it dark and quiet as long as she needs.

@MarieJ: cool, thanks! Glad it is normal for you. I think your LO is around the same age.

My LO is also down to 2 naps and they are each three hours long. So, no advice, but we're in the same boat!

@highwire: holy naps, batman!

i don't really have any advice. my LO has never been a big day sleeper. it was revolutionary for me when he started sleeping 2 hours in the morning. I didn't tell ANYONE (not even DH) for a few days because I was so sure if I did, he would stop :P

besides, it probably wont hurt to pick a 2 nap routine (2, 3, 4, or a 9 and 2 type schedule) and just try it for a few days and see what happens? :) that's pretty much what I did

@Penny Lane: each!
She woke up at 830 today, went down for her first nap at 11, and just woke up at 330. So that one alone was 4.5 hours!!

like, 3 hours total naps? or 3 hours each?

when i decided to drop to 2 naps it was because LO was only sleeping 15-20 minutes for his 3rd nap (and only 45 min for the other naps O_o), and then going to bed super late because of it. after the transition he now takes a 2 hour nap in the morning, and 1 - 1.5 hours in the afternoon. he's 11 months now, but we started the transition at around 7 or 8 months

How did this go for you?

The last two days, C has been taking mega naps (3 hours+). Is this a normal length of time when consolidating down to 2 naps? She's almost 8 months and STTN.
