Yup, in she goes assuming we don't need her to be coram for some reason. I'm not even too picky about what she's wearing as long as it isn't anything special and she won't end up cold.

@SugarplumsMom: This is how I feel. As long as they are dressed appropriately, especially footwear, it's ok. But if not, they have to stay out of the puddles.

Yep. The other day we had a lot of rain so DH and ds went out to splash while it down poured.

As long as she's wearing her rain gear, she can do whatever she wants. At preschool, they pretty much let the kids swim in the puddles! But they're always completely covered up, so they don't get *so* dirty.

I'll encourage the puddle jumping  We live in the city and I notice that DS has been so well schooled that everything is off limits, he doesn't really explore anything outside. I think it's my biggest failure as a mom so far... so it might seem weird, but I actually try to encourage him to get dirty if it means being out and about.

Depends- like actual mud puddle I would discourage- we live in the city and I don't expect the mud is that clean. But water/ rain puddles yes. She loves it. She even knows which shoes she is allowed to do it in (not her favorite special sparkly shoes or sneakers, but all her summer shoes are fine).

If we aren't on the way somewhere I don't have a problem with it. Clothes can be washed, bodies can be washed.

Unless we're headed somewhere I don't care. With my oldest we lived right by a school and the kids would all go crazy on the playground during the summer after a rain. It was fun but once winter came it was a little harder to say noooooo it is 35 degrees and you will become a miserable Popsicle if you get wet.

I wouldn't care unless we were going somewhere nice and didn't have a change of clothes. Not really a big deal though.

Usually. If we're trying to get somewhere I obviously attempt to stop it but otherwise I really don't care, we can always change clothes!

Not if we weren't planning on being filthy! They're often allowed if they're in swimsuits or play clothes and we are going straight home (i.e., we are going to the park and it poured yesterday - I know it's gonna be dirty! Or if it's raining and we specifically put on boots and go on a puddle stomping walk around the block).

@Bao: Yes, as long as we don't have somewhere to be.
I read a list of things that you should let your kids do (things that will mean a lot to them) and letting them jump in puddles was one of them. For some reason that always sticks with me :)

Your LO is about to jump into it, do you let them, or stop them?

We let our kids if we aren't trying to go somewhere where we need them to be clean! We have a few that form in our driveway (mostly just water, not mud) that they love to jump in after it rains!
