I HIGHLY recommend the one I just bought from early-pregnancy-tests.com

Super accurate and made my chart crystal clear!

I used to use the Target one, which was quite (only beeped when it was done, which you need) but the recall feature was so quick I would miss my temp. It was frustrating and I'd end up having to turn on a light to see my temp right away instead of going back to sleep and looking at it later.

Now I use the Nexcare one, which beeps every 4 seconds but has a backlight. Like @Rachel: I put my thumb over the speaker so it's pretty quiet and I turn away from my husband so it's a little muffled in the pillow. The screen is nice and big, lights up, and the recall features flashes the last temp for several seconds, so it's worth the annoying beep to me.

I have the one that beeps while it's taking my temp, but there's a little hole/speaker on the bottom and I just put my finger over it to muffle the noise.

You do want a basal thermometer though, because it gives you your temp to the .1 degree, instead of the standard .2 degrees.

I just got whatever one they had at Walmart, but not sure it would fit your needs. It does beep when it's done, but I take my temp in the dark as well, so I like that it does that. I usually just throw a blanket over my head so that it's not as loud for Hubs. It WILL re-display the last temp it took when you turn it back on, but only for a few seconds, and then it will be prepared to take a new temp, so if you're not paying attention when you turn it on, you'll miss it.

I got mine at kroger. Its not the best but it works. It does beep though, but its so soft that DH never hears it, and it remembers the last temp taken until you take a new one.

I usually am taking my temps in the dark so the soft beep is nice to know that its done working or that I even got it on.

HTH

I am going to start temping next cycle, so I need to go out and buy a thermometer. Does anyone have any suggestions for thermometers (or ones to avoid)? I would prefer one that doesn't beep as its taking my temperature (because I don't want to disturb DH) and also one that displays the last temp taken so I can fall back asleep on the weekends and not have to worry about recording the temp immediately. Thanks!
