@LCTBQE: also I love the dyson stick because it makes things so easy. Yeah, that probably means I’m lazy but I can grab it in 2 seconds (our charger is around the corner from our kitchen in the mud room), clean up under the table with one hand while holding toddler, and put it back. I think it makes less difference for a bigger cleaning session but for quick ones it’s so nice.

@crazydoglady: Yeah, it’s the only butter we use. As far as taste is concerned, I don’t think you can really tell when it’s just one ingredient of many (vs instantly tasting the difference on toast). But lately, I’ve been tying to think of food as a preventative medicine of sorts, and using real butter from grass fed cows is part of that. I resisted that for a long time because I’m so frugal and I’m skeptical of a lot of organic food claims, but I have come to believe that unprocessed food is truly more healthy. Also, my DH and I eat keto, so we need the higher fat content of real butter. Our kids eat low-ish carb too... Probably less than 100g a day—most of their carbs come from fruit, yogurt, milk, and some bread here and there. I still buy my fancy butter at Walmart, though. It’s hard to afford to eat well.

@crazydoglady: I still bake with the regular "cheap" butter if it's not something that needs really good butter. I also use it on popcorn. Otherwise, my very big foodie friend got me on to Plugra butter and I haven't looked back. It's not as easy to find so I'll stock up when I see it or I'll go something European.

@foodiebee: i bought a used Tripp trapp instead of a booster seat for my then 2 year old because both kids were messing around with the booster seats and almost falling climbing up and down. It worked so well for her I ended up getting a second for my then 4 or 5 year old. They are almost 4 and 6 now and both sit in it- but I never used it as an actual high chair. But mine were really cheap- one had a horrible diy paint job we had to sand off and repaint, the other was just dirty but the family was moving and wanted it gone ASAP. I’d buy one used if I could!

@foodiebee We love our Tripp Trapp. My very tall 4-year-old is still using it, and I’m debating whether to buy a second for our younger son (4 months) or transition the older son to a regular chair...but the TT fits him better and is easier to clean.

In short, it’s totally worth it, in my opinion!

Mine is so silly, but I will never go back to cheap butter. I am a Tillamook girl for my regular purchase, but I often splurge on kerrygold pure irish butter and it is worth every cent.

@LCTBQE: Regular vacuums are corded and heavy. I literally will die just vacuuming one room and I have multiple floors and lugging it up/down the stairs, re-plugging on each floor, etc is such a pain when I have young kids and a shedding dog and need to vacuum a thousand times a day. The Dyson is light weight, comes with a wall hanger thing to hang it while it charges, one charge can last me a few days, and the attachments also make it super easy to vacuum hard to reach spots.

Dyson question for the group (sorry if this is dumb/obvious ?):
Why is everyone so obsessed with the stick vac? Why not just a regular vacuum? (In Dyson, I guess it's the Ball series)

@foodiebee: I really did want one of those, but also heard it was uncomfortable for the kids, so I didn't get it. Looking back, I would maybe still get it because I am not one to let kids sleep or whatever in their high chair. I started looking at the stokke steps high chair when it came out after my first girl was born. And then no money after my second came along!! ETA: I see the high chairs for resale on fb marketplace all the time. That is something I would probably buy used.

@periwinklebee: @LCTBQE: vitamix customer service is awesome. I messed up my blade and the bottom piece seriously in what was clearly user error (I ran it with a spoon hidden in my smoothie ... mom brain ... ) and they still replaced the parts for free!

@LCTBQE: I invested in a vitamix in 2007, and it's still going strong, with frequent use. Just as good as the day I bought it.... At some point I had the blade replaced for free under warranty.

I mostly use it for green smoothies. And gazpacho. Before I had a kid with a nut and sesame allergy, I would use it to make homemade nut butters and hummus (yum!)
