They have fantastic playgrounds - DS loved them. Another big hit was the Insectarium, a bug museum in the botanic gardens. I like staying in Old Montreal, it's a beautiful area and a good base for exploring the city. All the shopkeepers downtown seemed to have a pretty high fluency in English as well. She was fascinated by the Funicular, loved playing in the fountains outside city hall even though it was October, and loved the kid-sized door at Benjo, a huge toy store. It would be in April, so I assume it will still be pretty cold.</p> <p>Any suggestions for things to do with young kids? Any neighborhood/activity/playground/restaurant recommendations?</p> <p>Also, I've been to Montreal, but it was about 8 years ago and I don't remember--how much French is required to get around, order in restaurants,etc? Because I don't speak French. =) </p>
