@lawbee11: hmmm, yeah - I don't know! I would think they would have high chairs, but maybe not! Probably best to check first.

@yoursilverlining: Camellia Grill is my absolute fave! I didn't recommend it since they'll have their LO with them...not sure if they can accommodate high chairs?

We stayed here and liked it: http://www.dauphineorleans.com/ (but we wanted to stay in the French Quarter).

Also highly recommend the Camellia Grill. Fantastic greasy spoon/burger joint; the grill/kitchen is open and it's all counters and the cooks give each other the business back and forth.

It might sound cheesy, but one of the best things we did was a "haunted/ghost" tour of the French Quarter. TONS of history mixed with some fun. We learned so much and saw a lot in a short period of time, and then were able to go back and explore more of what we liked most the next day.

There is the Audubon zoo, Aquarium, and City Park. There are tons of shops and restaurants on Magazine to explore. I'd also take a streetcar ride through uptown.

You should definitely go to Cafe du Monde for beignets and coffee.

I would stay Uptown or in the Garden District (along or close to the street car line). Audubon Park/Zoo is great for LOs. Walking around the French Quarter/Jackson Square is fun (though it will likely be HOT and crowded). The Gumbo Shop is one of my faves. Acme Oyster House is really good, too.

Jackson Square is great for little shops and street artists. Magazine Street is a loooong street full of excellent, quirky shopping. Cafe du Monde is excellent, but if you don't want to be in the heat/crowds at the 'original', there are other locations in the A/C (provided you have a car to get around).

The Creole Creamery is a fun little ice cream shop that offers weird/strange flavors along with the normal ones. Oh, and there's Audubon park & Zoo across from Tulane University. You can take the trolley car to it.

Have fun!

I love visiting Jackson Square. The Marigny neighborhood is really cool to walk around in too, and there are some good places to eat there.
