I had LO at a house where I could only see a hallway and it never felt right to me. I couldn't tell who was there, see other kids, or look around at pick up and drop off. I can see almost everything (expect nap rooms and the bathroom) from the front door at LO's current in home and I really appreciate that. </p> <p>Additional questions:<br /> -How will you handle the 3 month old with the other kids? Do you have experience with this age range/gap?<br /> -What activities will you do with baby?<br /> -Do you have any pets in the home?<br /> -What involvement/interaction do other people in the house have with the kids? The access question above tells one thing but I found one husband and teenage son to be way too hands on for my comfort.<br /> -Do you leave the house with the children? If so, where do you go?<br /> -Have you ever had to drive the children anywhere? I signed a form saying one provider could drive LO in an emergency (with a carseat). Turns out we did not agree on what constitutes an emergency. </p> <p>Clearly, I've had a negative experience but we've also been really happy with our current in home center for almost a year and a half. Who has access to the home?<br /> 2. What happens if provider is sick or on vacation?<br /> 3. What age range of kids will be together?<br /> 4. I would want to see all licensure documentation.<br /> 5. Where do the children sleep? We've only had DD in larger daycare centers, so I'm not sure if there are specific things I should be looking for in an in-home daycare. What was important to you when looking at daycares? </p>
