I wanted to go minimalistic and had my heart set on DIYing her something myself. I've spent hours searching images for inspiration (in multiple languages even)! But it all turned out to be more of a project than I anticipated. A ton of the really nice DIYs are actually a LOT more money than the sets already available. </p> <p>For instance, just the faucet (I wanted a real one) costs $23 (cheapest I've found, i live abroad) unless I dedicate my weekends to garage sales and flea markets. Same with a stable cabinet that fits the dimensions of the stove we originally bought. That's not including a new hand saw I'd need to cut out the hole for the bowl sink. I guess if you alreDy have everything you need, it works.
