We didn't have a big problem or do a slow transition for either. When the clocks go back we keep him up later than usual the night before, and when they go forward I wake him up from his last nap early so that he'll be tired for bed earlier. Basically I pretend the clock has already changed when it comes to bedtime the night before. My kid has always been pretty easy-going when it comes to sleep though.

Agree with Blackbird. Start putting her to bed 15 minutes earlier about 4 days out. My LO, who is an early riser and had just started to STTN, actually made the transition pretty well.

We've never had a problem with DST in the fall, but in the spring is horrendous.

Stop it you're freaking me out! I'm going to pretend DST doesn't happen and just refuse to change the clocks and just exist an hour off until spring. It's not like I have a lot of appointments I need to keep!

Thanks...I haven't even thought about it until this post. :/ I think I'm more worried about M going to bed too early, rather than getting up earlier. I guess I'll just try to take it in stride.

D is finally old enough for this to not have as much effect. In fact, it'll be easier to convince him to go to bed, cause he likes to be in bed before the son goes down.

Stupid daylight savings time. WHY DO YOU EXIST. (I don't actually care. Just whining).

So I'm thinking ahead because this is coming in just over a month and I want to think about if we need to start slowly moving LO's schedule now in preparation.

Right now she goes to bed at 8:30 (asleep by 9 usually) and wakes up around 6. I wouldn't actually care about monkeying with her schedule for bedtimes' sake, because a 7:30 bedtime is fine for a 4 month old. But I don't want to get up at 5am.

Is there anything I can do? I assume if it was easy to make babies sleep later... we'd all be well rested. But I didn't know if there was any way to slowly shift her schedule?

Am I doomed?
