@wrkbrk: 😊😊😊
In person PT is the gold standard, but I totally understand that time is a huge factor for so many moms. Telehealth is a great starting point because you get to talk to a professional rather than just trying to fix yourself with videos or friend’s advice!

I’m a pelvic floor PT and wanted to make sure the people knew that there are several telehealth (Online sessions) options for pelvic floor PT as well. The Vagina Whisperer is one that I am familiar with. She also is on instagram. Insurance doesn’t cover it, but for the cost of about 5 pairs of thinx, you could solve the cause of the issue and prevent it from worsening as you age or with subsequent pregnancies. https://www.thevagwhisperer.com/services-pelvic-floor-therapy

I use the Thinx underwear for my period and I think they are a good option. There was one incident this year where I had a cough that was so bad I ended up peeing myself at the end of the day when I coughed, because my pelvic floor muscles were so trashed from all the heavy coughing through out the day(I ended up having pneumonia) I wore my Thinx underwear when this was happening and it helped. They definitely absorb straight liquid a lot better than period blood.

I also second the pelvic floor exercises, there are youtube videos that can show you how to do them, you just fit them in with your work out...

Also not what you asked for but there are pelvic floor exercise dvds (Hab It is one you can get off amazon) until you can figure out physical therapy.

Came on to say the exact same thing as @Boopers: , especially if you're done having kids, but I'd do it even before that (and did). I went to a pelvic floor specialist (@Silva told me about this and I'll always be grateful) for PT for pain during intercourse after my first baby. She told me 80% of her patients were there for incontinence and 20% for my reason--I've recommended seriously like 7 of my friends to her for light incontinence and not one single woman has gone. I know it's a pain, but it might not take very many sessions :heart: ETA we were writing over each other. Good luck!!

@Boopers: @gotkimchi: I definitely have pelvic floor therapy on my radar, but have to figure out something to address the symptom until I can get that figured out. I don't even have a primary care doctor at this point, and am still several months out from my annual visit at the GYN.

@Anagram: Thanks for the endorsement! In my Googling, I found some not great headlines from a few years ago, but it seems like changes have been made. I like that they offer a free trial period.

I know this doesn’t answer your question, but I 100% recommend working with a pelvic floor therapist. The underwear is really a bandaid to get through day to day, but addressing the root cause will be life changing.

@lady baltimore: yes! Great company. I got a family member some of their ICON line, which is for pee! And that family member then got all the women in our family either the thinx or icon line for Christmas. I know someone high up there—I’m a big fan.

I’ve heard they work well but I’ve never tried them, I just wanted to recommend pelvic floor therapy if you’re having trouble, it can really work wonders if you find a good pt

Has anyone tried using Thinx (or other period underwear - I have been scrolling through options on Amazon) for occasional incontinence? I can manage through light leakage from time to time when I cough or sneeze, but sometimes I can't get through a treadmill run or a high impact class without pretty much peeing my pants. (Other days those things are no problem, so who knows what gives.)

After really having to take it easy during a BodyCombat class tonight, I am fed up and thinking about getting some absorbent underwear to wear when I workout. Any experiences?
