@BKCaribBaby: I'm hoping they will work for me now! But I prefer Dear Kate (though I think they have less absorbency) because they don't look/feel like a bathing suit and have more styles.

I’ve actually been experimenting with Thinx for my last two cycles. I pretty much used them from the mid to late portions of my cycle without any tampons or other backup, and they’ve worked well. I own the hiphugger and sport versions. I have not had a chance to wear them on my heaviest days yet (on both days in the last two cycles I was traveling (actually in transit), and I just didn’t want to test them out then). I’m looking forward to not having to wear pads or tampons for most of my period.

So I was looking for a coupon code and came across this.

They apparently had a referral program for bloggers but when the bloggers tried to use those codes, the codes didn't work.

Seemed they pissed off a bunch of bloggers

http://putacupinit.com/why-we-no-longer-support-thinx/

Then in this link the company responded that the codes were created by bots and fake emails so they had to disabled the codes. Might be possible but they might be trying to justify ending a program where they were losing too much money.

https://consumerist.com/2016/05/20/customers-claim-period-underwear-company-thinx-suddenly-retracted-thousands-of-dollars-in-referral-credits/

The first link does mention false advertising. Some advertising does say no pads or tampons, but when you look at the site they said it should be used as backup like a pantyliner.

I don't know, lots of negative press for something that is just used for backup.

I almost pulled the trigger and bought some but I think I'll pass.

I would totally just have 1 pair for before/after AF! Now that I'm not on the pill, it's annoying b/c I never know when AF is coming, and I don't always remember to wear a liner. Also I hate that awkward end when I think it's gone, but then randomly still spot...

I'm intrigued by them since, with my IUD, my periods are very light. But they seem pretty pricey and a lot to invest not knowing if I will like how they fit or work.

I ordered a pair, I'm pretty excited!

I don't think they're meant to be used instead of tampons or cup, but instead of the pantiliner some west with those things, in other words, back up for leaks. I'll report back I guess!

I've been interested in getting them as a back up for tampon days. What I want to know is, if they can apply this technology to undies for periods, why can't they turn them into nursing bras to stop any leaks from showing??

thinx's graphic design and photography are beautiful! but I'm sticking with my OB tampons--I don't mind using tampons in the least; I like the simplicity, and I like not having to "manage" my underwear. thinx apparently need to be hand-washed, which doesn't gross me out but is a pain in the ass, even though their campaign says it isn't. it is. and I like to be able to dry stuff like underwear and leggings and tanks in the dryer to shrink it back from being stretched out. cool to hear the positive reviews from pp's though.

ETA: their copywriting and brand voice sound like they're targeting teenagers and college girls with all the cutesy instagrammy text-speak--maybe that's who they're after?

These could be nice as back up protection but they are a bit more than I'm willing to spend. They are only $6 off (20%) if you buy 7 or more but I don't want to commit to buying 7 pairs.

I am interested about being able to wear white underwear on my period days.
