I pretty much used them from the mid to late portions of my cycle without any tampons or other backup, and they’ve worked well. I own the hiphugger and sport versions. I have not had a chance to wear them on my heaviest days yet (on both days in the last two cycles I was traveling (actually in transit), and I just didn’t want to test them out then).
