I started getting stretch marks in the 3rd. :-( not bad, but bad enough to notice.

I think it went by sooooo slow. The slowest by far....probably because it's just a waiting game. I'd think too I've probably had more meltdowns this tri than any other, even though my 1st was challenging because of the complications, it was the "newness" of pregnancy, I was super busy in my 2nd and felt great, and now it's just been blahhhhh and waiting and feeling like this will never be over.

I would love to work out but I have been exercise restricted the whole pregnancy.

1. Yes, I really slowed down a lot. At 39 weeks 4 days I was "running" at 3.4mph--slower than my usual cool down walk!

2. I gained too much weight, but my weight gain was completely linear from 10-40 weeks. I kid you not.

3. I had to stop working at 38 weeks due to swelling/inability to do parts of my job that required manual dexterity. The plan was to work the whole time... But I was still able to work out. I even taught a class at my gym (TRX) at 39 weeks. I still gained a lot and had a really slow recovery. My recovery was slow because I pushed myself too hard AFTER delivery, not during pregnancy. Whoops!

4. No. Pregnancy went by really slowly. Recap from a facebook friend with a 4 week old: "Where did all the time go? I can't believe I have a 4 week old already!" Me: "It goes to all the pregnant women living the slowest weeks of their lives."

My experience with the third trimester was that it was just dandy and awesome till around 32 weeks. then i started getting much more large and uncomfortable. I was slowed down but i kept up with my long walks just at a slower pace. I experienced fatigue and swelling but it was also June, July and August. So i think even in FL you will do better with that. You will probably have your biggest weight spike at the end but its all baby so its very important to put that weight on. Its vital to baby health and growth. this is when the brain and lungs and fat come in the biggest. Since you are being induced you will want to be especially mindful of getting a lot of nutrients to baby even if your appetite suffers a bit in third tri so you guarantee she is ready for the world. I got so big that i had to have a lot more frequent smaller meals to keep up.

1) yes I slowed down some but more because of just being uncomfortable/swelling
2) weight gain was pretty steady throughout but has increased a little in third tri (I'm thinking mostly water weight and baby's growth); last pregnancy I ended up only about 5# more than I was pre-preg about 2w after birth so there was a fair amount of water weight
3) I had to stop working out at around 20w due to medical concerns
4) this whole pregnancy has gone fast but definitely the third tri

Yes I did slow down in the third tri as baby was very low and I had lot os pain in my hips and pelvis

Yes I worked up until the day I was induced which was past my due date

It actually seemed to drag in the 3rd trimester

I found it difficult to be energetic from the first day of being pregnant (I might be whiny), but the third trimester was worse. I would lay on the couch all day if I could. I quit my field job in the third trimester too, so I was much less active (field work had me walking 8-10kms/day, 7 days/week). And thus I gained almost ALL of my weight in the third trimester. Also, it was Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years in my third trimester, so it's not ALL my fault...

I quit exercising (and I'm sorry I did) in my second trimester because the doctors were concerned about my baby's size. Turns out she's just petite, but they had me worried, so I quit going to the gym, even though they said it was fine. Again, I regret that. So I'd say, keep walking, at the very least. And eating good.

I hated being pregnant, so my pregnancy seemed to drag on forever.

- Did you REALLY slow down in the third tri? => Not really, I kept doing everything I would normally do, with the exception of cleaning the floors since it become difficult to get down there. I'd say at about week 37 I did start walking a bit slower but it didn't stop me from walking a lot and keeping active.

- Did you gain more weight in the third tri than you did earlier? => I gained steadily until week 30, then from weeks 30-34 I gained more than previously and my weight kept jumping around (I had major water retention). After week 34 I didn't gain any weight until delivery.

-Did you continue working out in the third tri? => I kept swimming laps until week 35 after that I just couldn't be bothered to go to the pool anymore. I did continue my active, city lifestyle though.

-Did it go by fast for you once you hit 3rd tri? The 1st tri was slow, then it went fast until week 37. After that it was a waiting game wondering when baby would finally arrive.

-slow down...yes but only recently. I can't clean the house and do laundry and cook and walk my usual brisk walk all in 1 day now. I have to separate jobs and prioritize.
-weight gain..for me yes but I'm watching what I eat now insanely and upped my workout so it should taper off. I think the physical slow down mixed with baby's weight gain makes you feel huge but you're really not. Stick with working out...but listen to your body.
-yes I actually upped my workout in the 3rd tri to combat extra weight gain and to bring on a quicker labor (once my body is ready to labor). But like I said I can't do everything I used to.
(for example i took the incline off the treadmill but i still walk fast)
-it's flying by. Everything is done and ready because I'm insane. But I'm enjoying my last weeks of sleeping in and being selfish. So I'm not in a huge rush but I can see myself getting crazy at like 38w.

you are so cute. I love it.

First off I have to say you are my IDOL for working out these last 27 weeks. WOOHOO!! Go you. You baby is going to be SO healthy and smart because of it. That was my biggest regret for sure. I would say if you CAN keep trying to work out, maybe not at the same intensity, stay comfortable and safe, but try to maintain physical activity and I'm sure you'll keep comfortable much longer toward the end.

I also think that because of you working out, it will help you gain weight steadily.

I gained 5 lbs in the first trimester, 16 lbs in the second trimester, and 15 lbs in the 3rd tri. So there was no different from 2nd-3rd tri.

- I’ve definitely slowed way down in the third tri. I get tired/out of breath more easily and even when I’m getting sufficient sleep each night I go to bed EXHAUSTED. If I wasn’t working I could definitely go for a midday nap…every day.
- I gained the most weight in the second tri. It hasn’t been too bad in the third so far. I think a lot of it is that things are just evening out combined with the fact that BB is taking up SO much space that there really isn’t a lot of room for food anymore.
-I have been walking every day in the third tri so far. My working out consists of interval walking on the treadmill (2-3 miles a day) and light weights. VERY light weights :)
-So far it has (33w1d) and I’m terrified of it slowing down. I want the rest to fly by!

@jholler25:

1. I have just recently slowed WAY down. I will be 34 weeks Sunday and the exhaustion hit around 31 weeks. I'm usually dying of exhaustion at around 1pm each day and it's a challenge to do anything at that point.

2. I've gained the least amount of weight in this Tri. I gained a ton in the first 2 but now it's really hard to eat a ton and honeslty I'm rarely hungry anymore.

3. I stopped working out hard in the first tri. I was a runner pre preg but stopped as soon as I got my BFP. I was a worrier. Then I have preterm labor issues at 26 weeks and I am banned from exercising at all.

4. So far it actually has gone by fast. I have a feeling it's about to SLOW WAY DOWN though. I'm in the last 6 weeks so I'm assuming it's going to go super slow. I have 3 other kids and I think that is why it seems to be going fast. With DS (I was a single mom/preggo) my last tri went so freaking slow I was dying to go into labor. I'm hoping I don't reach that point this time around.

@jholler25: I'm not sure if working out has helped, as I've still gained 20 lbs at 28 weeks. Maybe it'd be even worse if I hadn't been working out?

@MsLipGloss: My thighs are now BFFs, too! I was so glad it was cooler today and I could wear leggings to walk in - shorts are constantly riding up my crotch. I'm noticing it's also kind of hard to cross my legs. Boo.

I'm at 32 weeks but I'll give you my experience so far:
- Did you REALLY slow down in the third tri? Definitely did. My body pretty much forced me to. I can still walk at my normal clip but I started getting more side stitches and pressure. Bending over has become much more difficult. I remember thinking it was hard to bend over at 26 weeks...that was nothing.

- Did you gain more weight in the third tri than you did earlier? I wasn't quite gaining a pound a week until I hit 24 weeks. At my 28 week appt and my 32 week appt (today), I gained a pound a week, making my grand total of 20 lbs at 32 weeks.

-Did you continue working out in the third tri? I'm still doing 30 min on the elliptical 3x/week in addition to all my walking with the dog and to and from work (living in the city). I think exercise is crucial an dhas made a world of different for me in terms of how comfortable I've been. I would certainly suggest keeping even a little bit up but also listening to your body and maybe only doing level 1 instead of level 3 one day.

-Did it go by fast for you once you hit 3rd tri? Not yet...I'll let you know in a few weeks ;)

I work in a office that lives in a old 3 story Victorian home. I work on the 3rd floor and my co-workers joked that as each week went by my steps got slower and slower. By third tri I definitely had to stop at each landing.

re:working out. I was doing Pilates pre-pregnancy and was just not comfortable enough to continue through pregnancy. I would say do what you know is best for the well being of you AND baby. Be less concerned about weight gain and more concerned about whether you are pushing yourself too far. I gained more than the "recommended" range....who cares!

I feel like my whole pregnancy FLEW by and the third tri was no different for me.

Enjoy these next few weeks because during the end it gets really uncomfortable!

1) Yes I slowed down, both in general (stairs are slower, walking is slower, ect.) but physically I get out of breathe quicker due to position/growing of baby on my air supply.

2) About the same as second trimester (almost 35 weeks), . I am gaining a pound or two a week which is what htey want since baby is gaining a 1/2 lb alone.

3) Workout has been put on hold due to some high blood pressure and motified bed rest. When I'm not working they want me layign down with my feet up. I'm hoping at my next appointment I will be allowed to take long walks again, or at least when I hit full term.

4) It's going very slow!! The first two flew by, and as soon as August hit, I feel like it's taking double time. I know the last month is goign to be even worse! Just anxious to meet our little girl and all the changes to come with it!

1. Yes - I slowed way down. Walking, moving, getting out of bed. Everything. The biggest slowdown happened around 33 or so weeks.
2. I gained a lot of water weight in the 3rd trimester - I retained water like it was my job. I don't know how much actual weight I gained. To put it in perspective, I gained a total of 50 poinds. Within 2 weeks, I had lost 30-40lbs of that. I think I peed it all out.
3. I worked out right up until the day before I delivered. I wasn't able to work out as hard or as long, but I made sure to at least go for a walk/do elliptical almost every day, plus some light weights to keep my arms toned. Working out also helped lift some of the 3rd trimester fatigue.
4. For me the last month or so DRAGGED. But I really, really, really wanted the baby out. I was so over being pregnant.

I worked hard pre-pg to maintain my weight (5'7", 130), although I was right around 138-140 when I got pg (OB thought a few extra pounds might help to get a BFP). As soon as I got a BFP, I gained (literally) 10 pounds of bloat, and it has been a pretty steady gain ever since (although I did not gain any weight at last week's weigh in--which is the first time that I have not had a gain). The numbers are tough to deal with, especially when I know that what I am eating should not be resulting in the numbers I am seeing. I have worked hard these past few weeks to keep my disappointment about the weight gain from stealing all the joy and excitement from butterbean's arrival. I do pretty well most days, but I do still struggle. And when I struggle, I try to cut myself slack and remind myself that just because I may not love--or even like--being pregnant at times, that I still love my baby girl with all my heart!

But yeah, @39 weeks, BW (baby/butterbean watch) 2012 is on! :D

Yay! So exciting!

1. I have noticed recently (around 31/32 weeks) that I am slowing down--not so much at the gym, but in general--I'm getting tired more easily, I can't walk around as much as I used to (or if I do, my f eet are killing me and I feel exhausted).

2. Weight gain wise, I'm only at 32w2d now, so I don't know how the rest of the month will shape up, but I had no weight gain from 22w to 26w and a biggish jump from 26w to 30w (7lbs), and I've gained 1lb since then. So it seems like my weight gain goes in spurts...in total I'm up 23lbs now and my doctor seems to think I'll stay under/around 30 for sure.

3. I have continued to work out 3-4x a week. Like I said above, I'm moving slower and some days it's a REAL effort to drag myself to the gym. I think we need to remember than when we're pregnant, it's not so much about losing weight or keeping weight off, but about making sure our muscles stay active. And ANY sort of workout, even if it's a crappy 15 minutes on the elliptical, is better than nothing--both for your body and your mental state. But be kind to yourself--it's OKAY to miss a workout or two if you are tired, feeling yucky, or just don't want to!

4. It actually seems like it's dragged so far. I thought it would go more quickly with doctor's appts every 2 weeks but so far, the last 8 weeks seem like they will go veeery slowly!

@Mrs. Tricycle: Do you feel like you've kept your weight gain in check considerably because you're sticking with your workouts? I shudder to think of what I would look like if I hadn't worked out...Because I've still gained a decent amount of weight!

@MsLipGloss: Holy crap! 39 weeks! You're officially on baby watch! Great info about the weight gain ---- I feel like every calorie just sticks to me somewhere, even though I don't over eat. So that's a bummer that eating less doesn't slow the weight gain. Thanks a lot, body!

1. I didn't *really* slow down in the third tri until about 34/35 weeks (I am 39 weeks today). At that point, the swelling and the sleep deprivation started to take their cumulative toll, and it was much harder to maintain any kind of a normal pace (whether at home or at work), or bounce back from a long/difficult day.

2. I have gained steadily throughout the pregnancy, so the gains that I have had during the third tri were very similar to my previous gains. The most frustrating part has been that I have eaten much less during the third tri (from becoming full pretty quickly), but my gains do not reflect that. Although I am retaining a craaazy amount of fluid (my calves/ankles/feet are swollen--pitted edema--constantly now) . . .

I think weight gain really varies from pg to pg . . . I have had pretty steady gains, although I would say that I gained slightly more at the end of my first and second trimesters.

3. I have not worked out during the the third tri. Besides the fact that my work schedule has been insane, I just have not had the energy. I have been pretty active, but have used most of the energy I have had to keep up with things around the house and to get ready for butterbean . . . I have been really surprised at how tired I get, how quickly I get tired, and how it takes me so much longer to recover from being tired.

4. The first part of the third tri seemed to crawl by for me (but I have felt that way for the entire pg, so totes take that with a grain of salt!), but the last week or so--as I desperately try to prepare for maternity leave--have gone by relatively quickly. Although time still crawls when I lay awake in bed at night because my swollen feet/legs are achy, because I just can't get comfortable enough to fall asleep, or because butterbean has decided to have a dance partay in mah belleh (although I do love these!).

@jholler25: ha ha. My thighs and butt were DYING to make me look like a tank from behind - I haven't been pleased about accommodating them, though that's what's happened - even with 4x a week workouts. Stairs suck, and workouts are definelty slower, but at 28 weeks I no problem getting my heart rate up high enough to break a good sweat, even if it is less intense than normal.

- Did you REALLY slow down in the third tri? I was still active but at some point you just get so big its hard to move quickly. So yes, I did slow down.

- Did you gain more weight in the third tri than you did earlier? Yes I think I gained the most in the third tri especially though like weeks 30-35.

-Did you continue working out in the third tri? I didn't officially work out at all but I did stay active. I think close to my due date we spent a day washing cars and doing yard work.

-Did it go by fast for you once you hit 3rd tri? I think weeks 27-35 go by pretty fast and then it seems to hit like it will take FOREVER. Try to just enjoy it for as long as you can, not counting the days/weeks. You will get to that point I promise.

I'm staring the third tri in the face....Next Fri I'll be 27 weeks (and on our baby moon- whoop whoop!)....I can't believe it!

But I have some questions about what exactly is about to go down...

- Did you REALLY slow down in the third tri? I have noticed in the past couple of weeks that I can't go at my same speed/intensity at the gym. I can put the speed/resistance the same on the ellip trainer, but I go slower. I can't go as fast as I used to. And also while lifting weights, I just move slower. Not to mention the stairs in our house....If I leave something up there, I have to REALLY weigh out if I need it bad enough to climb them again...

- Did you gain more weight in the third tri than you did earlier? I don't keep track of my weight because I don't want to obsess over that, but it hasn't been TOO bad so far, but I read a lot of people gain the bulk of their weight in the third tri. So I"m wondering what's ahead!

-Did you continue working out in the third tri? I am only 5'4. My body is DYING to be fat, so I have had to work really hard to not gain weight fast. I'm slightly worried that I'll have to "give up" in the third tri just due to not being able to hack working out 4x a week. Or working out period!

-Did it go by fast for you once you hit 3rd tri? I feel like this pregnancy has BLOWN by. I don't want it to slow down!!!!

Just wondering!!!!
