Thanks again all! I started trying the earlier bedtime and eliminating the last catnap. His afternoon nap seems to go longer but his wake up time was really early this am, 530, ouch. But I'll stick it with it for a while and post an update in a week or so to see if there is any improvement! @greentea I know what you mean about the holding. Little bare used to be the same but eventually he got better at letting me put him down. He did much better with letting me out him down when he was swaddled.

Our nine-month-old rarely naps during the day. He's at daycare during the week and manages no nap anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour. He often falls asleep on our way home, naps for 20 minutes, then wakes up to play until bedtime. He is sleeping through the night, though. He tends to nap more on weekends when we can be in the same room with him. We either nap with him in our bed or sit next to him and read while he naps. I wouldn't worry too much, but see if you can get him down earlier. He may wake up earlier, which will be a bit rough on you, but he may start napping when his day starts earlier.

Good luck!

@Mammabare: I would try for a very early bedtime (6pm) based on your schedule. He is up kinda early so that is a very long day, and his short naps are probably making him overtired by bedtime.

Thanks ladies at least I'm alone :-( @scg00387 our schedule is usually:

530-630 wakes up
7-730 breakfast/cup of breastmilk (depending on what time he wakes up)
900-930 nap
930-1000 dressed/brush teeth
10-1200 lunch/out of house activity
1230 nurse
100-200(230) nap (most days, but this can be as short as 30 minutes or as long as 90 minutes, all over the map.
3-500 activity/walk
5-700 nurse/bath/dinner/bed

Bedtime is difficult because if he wakes up early from afternoon nap he wants to go down again for another nap and 6. When he does this then bedtime is usually closer to 8. But maybe I should just keep him up until 7 and then skip that third catnap....

Yup. 9.5 months and she tends to wake up exactly at 29 min. way more often than I care to admit. Today's naps looked like this: 29 min., 28 min., 38 min. I've been getting some better stretches ~ 1hr most days (but the first one is ALWAYS short).

We've had some periods of real STTN, but it seems like some form of teething or milestone is always happening every other week to mess sleep up.

Anyone else have a ten+ month old taking thirty minute naps? My son wakes after 30-45 minutes most days. Some days after an hour. In either case he doesn't STTN and my attempts to no cry sleep train haven't been effective. I'm constantly getting frustrated with the short naps and spend half my day rocking him to sleep or back to sleep. But maybe I'm trying to force a nap on him that he doesn't want. Just looking for support advice or both :-/
