Then there is the within a brand size discrepancy too - LO is still rocking a certain Gap 6-12M sized sweater, at 24 months!! (She normally wears large sized 18m and some smaller sized 24m clothes )

@Mrs Green Grass: yikes! We use cloth diapers so that skews it a bit. Without though he wears 9 month or 12 month. Carters tend to fit the best. But they are still too short!

T is 2 and is 32 inches and 23.5 lbs. he never ever outgrows width before length. He has a long torso though so he's in 24m/2t tops but still fits into some 6-12 shorts from last year! But then pants he needs 18-24 for length!

@Mrs. Lion: same! 6-18 month shirts, but he's barely out of 3 months for shorts and most 6 month pants fall off.

@twodoghouse: Carter's has definitely worked the best since their weights are much lower.

My 2yo is 24 lbs and 34 inches tall - I have to get creative :) skirts never work out for us, even with adjustable waists- they slide right off. We do dresses as tops with leggings (usually as capris since she needs a smaller waist), adjustable waist pants, and rompers.

At 21" and under 6 lb, my little guy is already rocking the Capri pants as well. He needs preemie for his waist but he's way too long for preemie. I think it's going to be a pants less summer. Crazy about the discrepancy in all the brands! Looks like this chart is a good resource though!

haha that's my little one too... Fortunately it is summer! SHORTS! :) He can wear shirts from 6-18 months, but he has to have 18 month pants. Sheesh.

Have you seen this fantastic pin comparing sizes of common baby brands?

It's awesome. Except what do you do when your baby is nearly 32 inches and 19 pounds, hmm? Capri pants every day...
