@yellowbird: Yup, exactly. I'm so paranoid that it's going to affect my milk supply. And there's nothing worse than trying to relax to pump, but being so on edge about it. Arg. Well, I'm sure there are faaar worse things, but y'know :P The only way I could get my manager to be on board with my pumping was to tell her I would stop and help people when they come to the desk. should be getting a double pump from WIC this week, though, so hopefully that'll help speed things up! I'm using a pretty dinky single pump and it takes forevvvvuuuhr.

@ZombieBullfrogHoller: :((((( that's what I would do too! Just put up a sign that says you will be back at X time. You have to pump!

@yellowbird: Unfortunately I'm the exception for those laws since it only applies to companies with x amount of workers and we have far under the required minimum. And, nope, it's just me and housekeepers who aren't permitted behind the desk. I'm about to the point where I'm going to put my sign up and take the bell away and people can just wait. And if I get in trouble, so be it.

@ZombieBullfrogHoller: ohhh sounds like a killer schedule.

I think your work is required by law to give you adequate pump breaks. Is there noone that could cover for 15 mins? That would SUCK! I'm sorry

@autumnlove: I am making so many mistakes at work it's ridiculous. I can't focus and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get written up a couple times by the end of the week for screwing things up. Secretly, I hope they'll fire me so I can just stay home. That would kill us financially, but in my dream land....haha. And I'm the only one at the desk (I work front desk of a hotel), so I'll go in the back to start pumping, start and then someone will be ringing the bell needing something. Today, I was trying to pump for nearly two hours. It was ridiculous. Smh. Sorry to hear you had a milk mishap, as well. Cryin' over spilled milk, I'm tellin' ya.

I hope it improves soon! I just went back and I'm a bit of a hot mess...oversleeping, messing up at work, forgetting shoes for LO at daycare...the list could go on for days!

Ps. I spilled milk this morning! :-(

@MsMamaBear: Confession: I am, absolutely, pigpen. :x haha

@yellowbird: We both work 4 days a week: two different and two the same day. He watched LO while I'm at work and tries the whole "sleep when baby sleeps" thing. Then, when I get home at 3p he tries to sleep until he has to wake up at 10p to get ready and be in for 11p. On the days that he's getting off work as I'm going in, like today, I drop LO off at my MIL's (she lives about two blocks away, so very convenient). She watches him until DH walks down (he can't drive) and picks him up on the way to our house.

So far, it's working out rather cruddy. Only because DH has such trouble sleeping. He gets too wound up and can't fall asleep until like 8p and 2 hours of sleep per day for the last 3 days is wearing him thin :| I'm hoping once we get a better routine, he'll be able to sleep better (or if he can find a 2nd shift job would be better). I think it makes it extra hard because our apartment is so tiny, so the baby and I unintentionally keep him awake. We live in a one bedroom apartment and made our bedroom into a nursery and the living room area into our bedroom. I'm sort of regretting it now, since we're room sharing, anyway, there wasn't really a need to make the bedroom a whole nursery. I think I'm going to talk him into switching it back, that way he has privacy to sleep. Good luck! :)

@ZombieBullfrogHoller: hope next week is better! Just wondering since my husband is starting night shift next week, what kind of daycare situation do you guys have? When does your dh sleep?

It gets better. trust me! It may take a while, but it does. And leave the apartment dirty if you have to! Trying to keep it clean, will add more stress. Not that I'm pig pen, but trying to do it all will run you ragged.I know, my LO's toys are all over the living all week, lol, but Friday I really clean because I'm off. UTILIZE the dishwasher!

Once y'all get in a routine, it'll run smooth. :)

The week was just one thing after another x___x haha. Things are improving, though! Unfortunately, I didn't have a stash. But you better believe I've started one now. Never again! It's just such a huge adjustment. DH works nights, so he gets off at 7am while I have to go in for 7am and it's just hectic. And my apartment is so disgusting because I have no time or energy. Oyyyy. /lament :P

I'm so sorry you're having such a bad day. Can you do something to help you relax tonight? Maybe read a chapter of your favorite book, catch up on some TV, sip some wine? It'll be better tomorrow!

I'm so sorry - so so sorry about the milk that totally stinks! Do you have some frozen stashed away that you can use for tomorrow so that you don't have to pump so much? Adjusting to being back at work is hard! It gets better though! The smiles when you get home are the best!

Ugh. Just a vent. This ha
S been the worst couple of days. I started back at work yesterday and its way harder than I thought. Pumping is hard because I have to pump in the back and stop and run to the front if a customer comes to the desk. Getting everything ready in the morning and performing well on no sleep is hard. Leaving baby is terrible. He was fussy for my husband all day today and as soon as I got home and picked him up he just melted into me and smiled and fell asleep. I feel like the worst person ever. And to make it worse as I was leaving work I went to combine the pumped milk and spilled it all. All of it. 15 ounces wasted. I'm going to have to pump all night to get enough to co er tomorrow. Ugh. It'll get better right? :/
