I also wanted to add that what they are talking about with your maternity leave sounds illegal! I was considering returning on a part time schedule after my leave and I was told by HR that the requirement of FMLA is that they have to hold your old position and then you have to work one day of your old schedule. After that, you have done your part by returning and they have done their part by keeping your job. What happens on day 2 after leave is then a whole other story. I ended up coming back full time so I don't have direct experience but it may be worth talking to HR or someone who knows about HR if you truly do want to quit and not get blackmailed. </p> <p>I am so sorry about your week! Then daycare raised their rates and so I was only going to be making $200 a month with two in care. So I quit. They asked if I could do ten hours from home and I agreed to that. </p> <p>They just sent me a letter saying maternity leave was only for employees who planned on returning to work (DH thinks they were trying to imply they might go after the money if I quit) and saying if I can't return to my previous schedule by January, they would have to rehire for my position. They had also taken away the big project I was working on (not for lack of time, they assigned me a bigger project.) So now I realize I really don't want to go back to the office, I can't work from home more than a few months, and I can't quit. </p> <p>Lo2 has fussed all day today. </p> <p>@Greentea: I am so sorry about your dad! I have been having a crap time too-</p> <p>*please forgive me in advance for venting on your thread (can I vent on your thread?)</p> <p>DH started a new job out of town AND night classes until 10pm so I am solo parenting. </p> <p>Yesterday it took him an hour to start our truck after work so he was late for his class AND the window broke on the driver's side AND the rear brake went out AND the check engine light came on all in the same day. He was late for work because a huge storm took out some traffic lights.</p> <p>Tuesday my dog went wild and ate a wide variety of things like garbage in the bathroom and toilet paper (probably stress from the storms) while I was out with LO (and of course they were dragged across the house).</p> <p>I got stunk by a wasp between my two toes while walking LO and I had to walk a mile back in excruciating pain.</p> <p>My stroller fell down a cliff while I was holding LO and I had to flag down a passing jogger to retrieve it !!!!! (Wtf.)</p> <p>DH and I have been fighting because we are stressed. I had ear wax blockages in both ears ehich I found out after waiting three hours and being there for another hour. </p> <p>Tuesday I woke up with mastitis. Probably from going that long without nursing on Monday. Then our toilet tank cracked and leaked everywhere. </p> <p>Thursday I went to the ENT and he could actually fix my ears. I hadn't realized how much hearing I had lost so that's good. But then we discovered our dishwasher had been leaking under our cabinetry. </p> <p>Today I went to get coffee out of the freezer and realized our freezer door was broken. I lost my whole BM stash. </p> <p>So ready for this week to be over. I think DH has to work this weekend though since he came home when the toilet broke. </p>
